Detailed Picture of the alien from Signs (non spoiler)

In the movie signs they really don't give a clear look at the aliens. After much surfing on the web I have found two pictures.

Mind you that in this picture the alien is armed and after much debate by the studio heads they decided to drop the weaponry and go for the savage look.

That creature looks just like the creature from a show called "the land of the lost".

That show was a Saturday morning hit about 20 years ago.

You would think that with todays techonology that the people from Signs wouldn't have to resort to characters from the 80's.

The Sleestak are back!!!!!

Even if they are just lame rubber suits, their raspy hissing was seriously creepy to my developing mind.

They also get mad coolness points for pulling a Chuck Heston before I had ever seen the original Planet of the Apes. Enik, an intelligent Sleestak and member of the civilization that had built the time/space portal technology, was also stranded in the Land of the Lost. He believed that the mute savages were the primitive ancestors of his glorious and advanced race. Upon discovering the ruins of his home city, however, Enik realizes that the other Sleestak are his descendants, having reverted to barbaric tribal behavior following a genocidal civil war.
