I order a few customs per year and have never ran into any issues with them. Last year I switched to a different producer and ordered two that were phenomenal and delivered on time without any obstacles. This year, I inquired about a custom with a specific model who I really like that was on their schedule, we will call her A. The clip was to be an f/f clip with girl B who I did not have a hard requirement for, she just happened to be the other girl scheduled for that day. I placed an order and paid in that same discussion. I also like to see specific kinds of heels in my videos so I usually end up ordering heels to be delivered to the producer for inclusion in the video. In this custom, I ordered two pairs of heels since it was an f/f clip.
The night before the scheduled shoot date, I received an email saying that B had cancelled and they offered to get my script filled with two completely different girls two weeks later. I asked if there were any other girls available that A could film with because it was never a hard requirement that B was in the video in the first place. I was told that because B had cancelled on such short notice, A would not be traveling to the shoot site and the earliest they MIGHT be able to get her on site was a three day range in mid April, almost 2 months after I originally paid. They again offered two different girls in mid March but I really like A and think she could fill the role in my script perfectly. I also felt that the heels ordered would go to waste (which ultimately i'm fine with since ordering them was completely my decision), but if it were possible to get A with ANY other girl earlier then mid April, that would be ideal. I received no response to that so eventually I ceded and agreed on mid-April without knowing a specific date.
I am a frequent customer of their clips4sale store and have come to know their update schedule, and over the past week, since the original shoot date, they have added three or four clips with A in them. The timing would seem to indicate that she was on site during the originally planned shoot date. I get the feeling that I have not been given the full details of the situation. I'm starting to think that there was another reason the script couldn't be shot despite B not making an appearance. I don't want to overreact by asking for a refund and eating the cost of the heels but at the same time, if there was an issue with A and my script, I would rather know now then wait until some ambiguous date in April where A may or may not be able to do the script.
Thoughts?
