In an earlier thread, I said that I was starting to get this voice in my head whispering "New England"....and I also said in my playoff preview thread that no one can game-plan a single opponent like the Patriots.
It's nice to be right, even if I was pulling for the Chargers.
Actually, I do like New England, it just would have been nice to see LaDanian Tomlinson's amazing season mean something.
So, the first and second teams in the AFC are out and we're back to Brady vs. Manning. Maybe it's as it should be. Our generation's Marino against our generation's Montana.
It just goes to show that predictin anything is next to impossible, eh? Six weeks ago, there probably wasn't one person who wasn't thinking to just end the season and let San Diego, Baltimore, Dallas and Chicago fight it out. And now, only one of those is left standing...and them not by much.
The Saints will stop the Bears. They will have no problem converting 3rd and shorts like Seattle did. Too many weapons for Chicago to stop consistantly, especially if thier defense plays the way they did today. Not that it was bad....but it wasn't Chicago, you know? They should have been all over the Seahawks. The Saints will be too much for them to handle.
As for the AFC game, who the hell knows? At this point, it's probably another run for New England and a shot at becoming the greatest dynasty since the Steelers of the '70's. Then again, maybe destiny is on the side of the Colts for once. Hey, they were supposed to have it handed to them in both of the last two games, right? Didn't happen. It's like they just signed a completely new defense to play in the playoffs. And New England didn't look that great against San Diego. Of course, Brady did his Brady thing when it counted.
Should be a great Sunday this week, eh?
Not that predictions mean shit at this point, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say......New England and New Orleans.
