Differently Abled! XD

I can't feel pain

Waaaaa...:huh...that's a new one for me...here I thought all humans had the sensation of at least some pain if injury occurred on a portion of their body.

Yeah, like dying from accidentally not noticing a grievous or horribly infected wound. XD

No,like never being in any pain after surgery,or from a sprained ankle. You know he never has to suffer physically. He would notice an infected wound or someone else would before he ever died.

Well... it can have its upsides... but it doesn't come without its downsides as well.

It's a disorder called "Congenital Analgesia" (which I often call CITP, for the abbreviated "Congenital Insensitivity to Pain) and it effects my Neuro-system. Basically I have no sensation, reaction or response when inflicted with pain.

In life, it's more inconvenient than it is useful. What purple said is true, if I were to have a severely infected wound (especially on the inside of me), I wouldn't notice it. At most, I would feel a little strange. It's also the reason the Cancer I had a few years back now got so life-threatening. It only came to be noticed when my breathing patterns became noticably unusual.

So yeah... me and my amazing body. 😛

congenital analgesia is a misleading name. Sounds like it should be a problem w/ your butthole

Oh my.Sorry to hear about the Cancer Bob-but nice to hear of another Cancer survivor 🙂
So does that mean you never suffer from 'man flu'??

:scared Damn, I'm sure glad you survived.

I can relate to some of the postings here. Either stuff which I've dealt with myself or which people I've known have.

Me, I have a busted stomach which messes with my breathing sometimes. Goodbye to the ultra-spicy foods which I used to love. OTOH, there are worse things to have to give up, aren't there? 😀
