Follow me on PATREON and you'll be able to access a total of 8 angles of this scene, as well as hundreds of other publications.
"I think I’ve finally managed to find a vulnerability in the monster. It’s not much, but it seems to react with a certain amount of stress to specific tactile stimuli... If you give me more time, I might be able to convince it that our dimension is hostile to it, and that it should retract its appendages back to its own, instead of continuing to try to enter our world... and thus, finally close this damn portal."
I can think of some books, series, movies, and video games, like The Mist or Half-Life, where the plot explores the catastrophic consequences of making contact with other dimensions or universes. Basically, this scenario presents that possibility, but with another universe making contact with ours, with catastrophic consequences for them.
Although I originally planned to use more humanoid beings as the inhabitants of this dimension, from all my library, I ended up choosing the strangest creatures I could find to embody the role of alien scientists. After all, it seemed fun to think that just as strange as we might appear to them, the pair of feet that have emerged from their portal should seem equally strange to them, especially considering they have no idea what the rest of the creature is like... And, above all, how tough they're making things for the poor twenty-something girl under whom the portal opened. 😁
