Hi people
I know this is very very untickling related but as I often read these forums now as do many others by the look of it I thought this may be a good place to try and spread the word about a really worthy charity I have recently discovered.
The charity is called Thembalitsha, is based in South Africa, and aims to love and care for AIDS orphans - both those who have lost their parents to AIDS and those who are suffering from the disease themselves.
The reason I came across this charity was that I read an article about a family who had visited South Africa and who had been so moved by the plight of these children that they have moved there permanently to try and help love and care for the children as much as they can. The article really moved me and so I thought I might try and spread the word a bit about their work to see if I could help drum up some support for them - they really are in need.
The website for the charity is www.thembalitsha.org.za So if anyone is interested in finding out more and maybe donating in some way please check it out. I know Christmas is an expensive time anyway but one of the things that moved me the most in the article was when the writer described a Xmas party they had held for the children, and the look of pure joy on their faces when they received what small gifts the charity could afford to give them. It really made me wish that I could do more than I currently can to help them.
Thanks a lot!
