Hi,all.I know some discussions are very important, but I was wondering why we actually have some others, other than the fact we are getting others opinions.
Take football. You really can't compare QB's from different times. How can you.Today the players are bigger, faster, stronger and, more important, the rules have changed. You really can't compare Marino,Elway,Brady,Manning to Unitis,Baugh,Namath, some of the 60's and 70's QB's.Now 2 QB's are about to break Marinos' yardage mark for a season.Good for them if they do.But no one looks at when Marino set the record(1984,his 2nd season). All they see is the mark might be broken.Talk to me about a QB that sets records(yardage and TD's)in his rookie or 2nd season. It is more important when he breaks the record as to he just broke it.To me,if it is his 6th,10th,16th yr,not as important as if it were his Rookie or 2nd yr.
The other is comic book people. Please, who is stronger,Superman or the Hulk. Are we really that childish? They are just cartoon people.I remember the shows were kids say my father can beat your father up and I can see kids comparing comics, but adults?I love comics, especially the Hulk, but I don't get into those talks. To me,that is how DC can compete with Marvel.Having 2 guys(Superman and Shazam)that are just about unbeatable.Strange,though.In my readings, correct me if I am wrong, but Superman gets tired in a fight and the Hulk doesn't and Superman grows weak around Kryptonite and I have seen comics where the Hulk went down, but got back up fighting when hit with Gamma Rays. Now I just did what I thought was dumb, but they keep changing the characters and their abilities everytime you turn around.
Bottom line, just enjoy football and comics and never mind the comparasons(don't think I spelled that right).Thanks.
