Here's something I wondered, fellow ticklers. Do you like the idea of tickle sessions, but not so much the locale that they're in, particularly the S&M, dungeon-setting places. I recently have done a couple of tickle sessions and gatherings, and I've quite enjoyed them, but it took me a while to get to that point for the simple fact that I loved ONLY tickling, and the thought of going someplace with whips, chains, semi-nudity, etc. took some getting used to, and still does. But my sessions are "dark vanilla" at best. When I tickle, I don't ask the girl to get nude/topless, I ask to keep it playful, I do everything possible to make sure my tickle session doesn't go to a territory that would make me uncomfortable.

I'm just wondering if people feel that way, and if there's some happy medium. Like maybe if a place like (in L.A.) Passive Arts or The Dominion had a special "Tickle Night" and maybe didn't have the "scary stuff" as prominent. Or if a tickle gathering was held someplace we could play that's not a dungeon... though I'd have no idea what that would be. Just trying to think of what ways might help our slightly scared ticklephiles out there (if there are any) come out and enjoy something as awesome as tickle gatherings and sessions with wonderful dommes, switches, and subs.

The UK gatherings take place in a rented-out dungeon, and there's not really an issue with the surroundings, as it's mostly (if only) tickling fetishists that turn up, so tickling is the predominant form of play.
It's who you're with that makes you comfortable, not where you are.

But then, my last tickling session involved some fairly heavy s/m play as well, so perhaps I'm biased. 😎

There is no reason to be frightened of equipment or items (such as whips) that you're not going to use. As long as you and your play partner trust each other, there shouldn't be any problem. And a dungeon has such fine bondage equipment, which helps greatly in the type of session I like. 😀

DUNGEONS FTW!!! :mwahaha:
The darker and dirtyer...the better!!

I've never done a professional session, but I have to admit that I am intimidated by the idea of going to a dungeon to ask for something as "tame" as tickling. I guess I would wonder if they were laughing behind my back or something at not being hard-core. Then again, the issue is probably moot because I cannot actually see myself going to a dungeon for a professional session...

At any rate, just my two cents.

No one's laughing behind your back. From what I've been told at both Passive Arts and Dominion, they get a lot more tickling sessions than you think. And for some of the ladies, it's their favorite because it's more playful. Even though I essentially pay them, I treat them with the same respect I would any of you on the forum, and I honestly feel they appreciate that (maybe they can respond if any of them are reading this, ha ha...)

Granted, there are some ladies who will not be interested in tickling, but there are enough who are that it's not worth pushing. And some "act" more ticklish than others, but that's your personal discretion. And they have different personalities so you have to figure out what works for you. You can have intervew talk time before booking a session with anyone. It's a great way to get to know people and let them know what you're looking for.

I was in the same boat you're in now. I think there's even a thread floating around here citing my nerves for going to one of these places. But I bit the bullet and first went to Passive Arts for a TMF gathering. I figured I'd see all kinds of stuff, but at least I would be in a group. And yes, I saw all kinds of stuff, but once the shock value goes away, you'll be fine. The TMF gatherers are really good at making sure everyone's in the group and having a good time. After going, I learned more about how it all works and came back later for my first session, a PA session with "Lacey," and left with one of the biggest smiles on my face.

Granted, I hope for the day I can do more tickling without paying for it, but I decided I'd rather have a little less in the pocket and do something I enjoy than sitting around frustrated and angry cause I don't get my minimum dosage of tickling. Besides, there's far worse things I could do in 30 mins for $100!

I think this is the reason why I do sessions out of people's homes or in hotels. The setting is neutral and comfortable. Though some people here in LA have asked to play in a dungeon mainly because it was a more public environment
