champs ?

I think this will surpise alot of people but I am actually gonna say the Penguins . They are super young and uber talented . NHL teams seem to be better able to absorb an injury to one key player than the NFL or NBA . The Yankees have a shot but many of there keys guys are definately long in the tooth as athletes

have to argree the penguins are set for a dynasty.. steelers have a good shot but i think its harder to repeat in football than any other sport. I dont see the yankees pitching holding up for a repeat

It is actually not as hard to repeat in the NFL as Champions as you might think.

Green Bay won Super Bowl # 1 & 2

Miami won Super Bowl # 7 & 8

Pittsburgh won Super Bowl # 9 & 10

Pittsburgh won Super Bowl # 13 & 14

San Francisco won Super Bowl # 23 & 24

Dallas won Super Bowl # 27 & 28

Denver won Super Bowl 32 & 33

New England won Super Bowl 38 & 39

There have been only 43 Super Bowls. So think about it, eight times there has been a repeat Champion in football. That is alot. That accounts for 16 of 43 Super Bowl wins. That is 37.2% of the Super Bowl victories are actually back to back. I could take this a step further but I will not.

So since this thread is about who will likely repeat, I am going to go with that 37.2% chance and go with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Because as the old adage goes...'in order to be the man..you must beat the man.' The NFL must beat Pittsburgh to be the man.

i mean now with the salary cap and all, i know NE did it but its much harder than it used to be

I'd say the Lakers provided they get Gasol back and the rest of the team is healthy. I don't think anyone in the West is good enough to contend. A few teams have gotten better like Portland, San Antonio and Dallas, but it's not good enough to put them over the top.

Agreed, the major depth issues that have been caused by the salary cap are brutal. Basically if your star QB gets hurt for the season then because of salary cap issues you are done. No more days of a superstar QB like Steve Young sitting on bench for years waiting for his turn. Nowadays you have a league minimum over-the-hill backup qb or very young qb that has no experience
