There is no such thing as soul mates. It's a myth some lonely people made up to make them feel better. If there were, how would anyone expect to meet their other half in a world of 6.5 billion people, where many don't have the ability to travel to every country looking for their one and only.

Well, the world has a lot of people, and those people share the same sources of interest and passion. So, naturally, there are occasionally pairs of people who feel extremely well-suited to one another.
If you're talking about pairs of people who were "destined" to meet by some prior deliberate intention, then no. (That isn't to say I think it's impossible, but I don't see any reason to think it's the case.)
