Have any baseball fans ever read the book Dodger Dogs to Fenway Franks? It was published in 1988, and is the story of a schoolteacher from Seattle, Bob Wood, who drove to, at the time, all 26 baseball stadiums in his car, during the summer of 1985, just before the short 1985 baseball strike. At the time of his trip, Wood wrote to every major league baseball team, asking for complimentary admittance to their ballpark. The Chicago White Sox wrote back to Mr Wood, and said "Such a sojourn is a fantasy that exists in the minds of all baseball fans".
Several years after Wood's trip, a guy named John Nordhal, who had seen Wood on David Letterman's show, made a similar trip to every NBA arena, and wrote a book about his experience. Norhdal did the trip a few years before his book came out, and his publisher was concerned about timeliness of the book, so Norhdal actually did the trip to all NBA arenas twice.
Do any fans have either of these books? Dodger Dogs has always been one of my favorite books. I've had my copy for over 20 years. As a baseball fan for nearly 30 years, one can only imagine what it would be like to take such a trip.
