So mils, how do you feel about this, my friend?

Milagros favorite team, the Dodgers, have signed lefty Scott Kazmir to a three year contract.

3 years and $48 million seems like a pretty fair price for a guy with Kazmir's tools. I've owned him on a couple of fantasy baseball teams in recent years and he's had strong starts and middling finishes. By comparison, the Cubs' Jon Lester was also 31 when they got him for 6 years, $155 million. Lester's had more postseason experience, and maybe that makes him 50% more valuable, but that's a pretty high premium above Kazmir, and the shorter term deal is appealing. In the wake of Greinke's departure, a sensible move I think.

He's a solid addition for sure, but certainly no Greinke, nor even, I don't think, as good now as Shelby Miller is, although I think that Arizona gave up too much to get Miller.

I feel sad for him. Another wasted year in Loser Land. I think the Dodgers have a saying "Failure is the ONLY option." However, the one I really feel sad for is Kershaw. He deserves better.
