With yesterday's walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning by Charlie Culberson, the Dodgers have clinched winning the NL West Championship for the fourth year in a row!!!

Notes:
1) No team has ever won the NL West four years in a row.
2) The last team in the National League to win its Division at least four years in a row was the Phillies, NL East Champions 2007 to 2011 inclusive.

Next goal: Beat the Washington Nationals in a best-of-five Division Series to reach the NLCS.

It's especially impressive when you consider the injuries they had. I'm not sure any other team in the NL could have withstood the injuries to their pitching staff and maintained such a good record. Much less win their division comfortably.

Congratulations, milagros. I'm very happy for you, my friend.

I wish the Dodgers well in the playoffs.

Congratulations to the Dodgers, and their #1 fan. 😀 It must have been somewhat bittersweet, clinching the title in such dramatic fashion while saying goodbye to the great Vin Scully.

Thank you, my friend. Vin is quite old now and I think that he really wants to relax now. 😀

to be at Dodger Stadium this whole weekend was an honor. A perfect weekend to salute and pay tribute to the great Vin Scully, the greatest sports announcer in history, a fact that is undebateable. I can admit I cried a lot. And to have Vin Scully say one line to me, my god, I was in heaven!

Thank you, my friend. 😀

Yes, probably so. They gave him a great send off though. I don't envy whoever will take his seat now. How do you replace a legend? You don't really, you just follow him.

Exactly. Joe Davis is his likely successor in the broadcast booth.
The thing for Joe Davis to do is develop his own style, not try to imitate Vin's style.

San fran wins playoff game to move on! :bounce:
That belongs in its own thread; it does not belong here until or unless the two teams meet in the NLCS. 😀
PS: I will now root for the Indians over your Red Sox.
