Being a baseball fan and seeing so many of my favorite players of the past be brought down by conviction of steroid use, I just cannot see how this guy isn't using something. I mean whether or not it's steroids, he could be using some hgh or something else that we may not even know about. I mean, the guy is twice the size of most of the other players in the league and hits homeruns in games like he's taking batting practice. He reminds of of Mcguire or Sosa, and I'm pretty sure both of them were on the juice. Mcguire admitted to it and sosa it really goes without saying that he used them.

Every big hitter for the most part has been linked to something like steroids or hgh in the last 5 years or so, and I gotta believe that there's a massive cover up going on here because they figure that disclosing tests of Pujols showing steroids in his system would be detrimental to baseball. They like making him into the "last great slugger", and after Bonds nearly ruined the integrity of the game when he cheated his way to the home run record, they don't wanna risk revealing positive steroid tests for the last big slugger that can still fill the seats with fans that believe he's just an honest, hard working athlete. Jeter's an honest, hardworking athlete too, and he isn't the size of pujols and doesn't hit the ball 500 feet. Vlad Guerrero is a really big guy (naturally big I believe) and he don't hit 40 home-runs a season. In fact, pujols seems to be the only guy that still puts up 40+ each year without any trouble, yet no controversy whatsoever stirs around him. They scrutinized A-rod more and more until they finally outted him, and David Ortiz was finally linked to steroids, and then it was Manny, one of the few guys everyone firmly believe was just a "natural slugger" got linked last season. So then I gotta wonder, how is it that NOBODY seems to wanna link Pujols to the "S" word?? I believe it's cuz Bud Selig can't afford any more massive controversy like that which was surrounding Bonds, then A-Rod, then Manny...not to mention the nightmare before congress 5 years ago.

Now, I could be wrong and he could be legit, I can't prove it. I just know that all of our favorite sluggers in the game have been linked to steroids at some recent point. Griffey thankfully has not, but he also tailed off when an aging player is supposed to start declining in home run power. Not like 41 year old bonds hitting 45 home runs in a season. I have read good points that were brought up in the past including that he came into the league right at the height of the steroid using era, and it's entirely possible that he was taking them all the time, which explains why his size and numbers have stayed the same his whole career. Personally, I'd love nothing more than to find out that this guy is a juicer because I'm so sick and tired of Espn and every other sports network worshipping him as a god.

mass, if he's juicing, yes, I hope they catch him. My view is that he's innocent until proven guilty.

It's sad about the steroid situation in baseball. Henry Aaron hit 755 homers, all of them honestly, without doing the steroid shit. Babe Ruth hit 714, and Willie Mays 660. Now, with all the steroid controversy, one has to wonder just how good guys like Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, and such would be if there was no such thing as steroids.

If Albert is just a great ballplayer, then more power to him. If he's juicing, I hope they catch him, and punish him.

Mitch

No.

Because I don't think Pujols is juicing.

Then again, I'm not even sure Pujols is human.

Mass for some strange reason...you hate Pujols. Why? It would be about time someone other than Griffey did this without PED's. I hope he is NOT doing anything. Just because your boy A-ROID is doing it doesn't mean you should not root for guys who are doing it the right way. I mean everyone knows the Yankees won because A-ROID was juicing.

Agreed. I'm skeptical because history shows that any players in the last decade that have put up god-like numbers have juiced at one point or another. I actually hope that he is on them because I feel like people forget the numbers Griffey used to put up in his prime before injuries and succombing to aging. I don't think Pujols deserves more credit than Griffey because playing outfield required far more running, diving, and throwing than does first base.

Who cares where Pujols plays on defense? Remember Pujols USE to play 3rd base and the outfield. Your hatred is undeserved. Admire the fact that he like Griffey has done it the right way. I don't believe that Griffey has ever done anything but you are off-base saying you hope Pujols is doing PED's. You should blame McGwire and Bonds and A-ROID because they cheated they put Griffey out of the spotlight. If Pujols is doing it right then he puts Griffey back in the spotlight because people will acknowledge the good players and not the cheaters.

Hey you should know first hand whether or not Pujols is juicing cuz you got your mouth wrapped so tight around his cock your lucky I can understand what you're saying.

Wow! I am not even a fan of the guy. But your disrespectful and rude comments are not called for. But I will be a BIGGER man than you and not say what I really want to say. But please send your retort. I look forward to seeing your well thought out educated comments.

I'll just make a blanket statement: ANYONE who is cheating, be it Pujols, Arod, etc, whoever they are, should suffer severe sanctions. As I pointed out before, Steroids are an insult to not only the game today, but also to the fans who pay a lot of money to watch these games, and to the greats like Henry Aaron, Babe Ruth,, and Willie Mays.. All of these guys hit more than 600 homers, and all of whom earned every single one of their homers honestly.

My view: You get caught doing Steroids once, you should be suspended for one full season, 162 games. The second time, banned for life, ineligible for the Hall of Fame. Harsh? Maybe. If baseball had a policy like this, it would deter guys from doing Steroids, would set a good example for the young fan, and would move it towards guys earning their stats honestly.

Mitch

One other point: If any of these guys are juicing, they are only hurting themselves, with election to the Hall of Fame. Look at Mark McGwire. The guy has been retired since 2001, with 583 homers. Before steriods, he would have been in the Hall in 2007, his first year eligible. He's achieved less than 25% of the vote in his first four years of eligibility. While we know a player can be on the ballot for 15 years, it's highly likely he won;t ever get in, as he shouldn't, since he admitted to doing steroids.

McGwire might well be the first example of what will happen to any guy who does steroids. If he doesn't get in, then it should serve as a lesson to anyone who is still using that crap. Stop using, and get your stats honestly, or, you're going to be kept out of the Hall.

Bonds may well not get in either. That would serve as an incredible example for the game. To not have the all time hits leader. (Pete Rose), and the all time home run leader (Bonds) in the Hall.

Mitch

I think they should be banned for life for using it once. And the teams/sponsors should look to recoup most of the money that was given to that player.

Pujols isn't a God, but IMO he's the best player in the game, and until proven otherwise, I believe he's clean. You're automatically assuming he's guilty just because other players at the same time were juicing. Pujols is a naturally big guy and unlike McGwire, Bonds, and Sosa, his body type hasn't changed drastically over his career. He's putting up incredible numbers in a pitchers ballpark often without any protection in the lineup. I'm an Orioles fan, and I wish we had someone half as talented as Pujols on our team. What about Ryan Howard? He's even bigger than Pujols, and hits even more HR's. Does that automatically mean he's juicing also? Why can't you give Pujols the credit he deserves? Are you a Cubs fan or something?

Leave. Pujols. Alone.

To answer your question, Ryan Howard is the stereotypical power hitter. It's really all or nothing with him. He strikes out a lot and usually crushes the ball when he does make contact. He's NOT Pujols. Whether or not Pujols takes anything, he still would be a far above average hitter because he hits for average as well as power. I'm a Yankees fan btw, I hate the Cubs and the Red Sox. Big "Sloppy" Papi is the real one I wish they'd catch to be honest.

He's a Yankees fan! Well that explains everything. Any problems with winning two World Championships with Roger Clemens haven taken steriods? Are you giving those Championships back because it was cheating that led your teams to winning those titles? Or do you ignore your team's steriod use and go after players that aren't on your team?

That really doesn't make sense because the same could be said about the Sox with um...... Big Papi, Ramirez, and let's face it, nomar the shorstop that put up 40 homeruns then suddenly fell off the map due to injuries that typically happen to someone who would use steroids. Furthermore, Clemens is always a Red Sox player in my mind. I lost all respect for him when it came out about the roids. Also, Greg Maddux is my favorite pitcher of all time and he definately didn't use steroids.

Really? When did you decide that? When he was winning games for the Yankees? Or when he was caught with steriods? And I am sure he is bothered by you losing respect for him. And I didn't ask you about the Red Sox Championships...I asked you about the Yankees Championships.

Hey cry about it. You came at me with the remark about the roids. Hey, I have no respect for you and I know that bothers you sissy boy.
