Does anyone own Katamari Demacy? And is it not the coolest game in the history of the planet? I mean seriously. 😀 This game kicks ass. 😀
I'd really like to know if anyone here has played it. I had a helluva time finding it without resorting to buying it online.
Well...it kicks ass. I already said that didnt I? It's very short but I could replay it forever. 🙂
Anyway, if you've gotten it lemme know. 🙂 Compare scores. Betcha mine are higher 😀 Okay...probably not. 😛

I don't think I've heard of it. How old is it, and what kind of game is it?

Hmmm. It might be a PC game, judging by it's title.

Pretty much what Gallicus asked. Could you give us a background ness?

It's a console game, and it bites. You're a rolling pile of garbage, on a very weird mission. :weird:

Well it's not really like any other game. If you're a hard core first-person-shooter type of gamer than it probably won't apeal to you. Just think of about the strangest thing you've ever seen the Japanese produce and this will be pretty close. 😛
It's a PS2 game. I don't THINK it's available for any other system.
The basic story is that you are a tiny little prince. Your father is the King of all Cosmos who, in a drunken orgy, has destroyed all of the stars in the sky. Your job is to take a little sticky ball and roll up the things on earth to create new stars with. You starts out small, picking up push pins and bis of candy. As the ball (the katamari) grows you can pick up larger and larger items until you are picking up bicycles, people, cars, trees, cows, trains, buildings, etc. Everything you see can eventually be picked up.
It's quite an experience but I found it evry difficult to find a copy. It's only $20 so, if you're into wierd ass drug induced Japanese stuff, it's an excellent buy. Hee are some images for you...I dont have the Playstation plugged into my computer right now so I cant take any of my own but here are some I've found...

Dosen't seem too bad. I guess it's an aquired taste.

As for thinking of it as a drug induced Japanese game, I have to say that it's pretty tame compared to other Japanese game related items I've seen on the net.
On one site for japanese game conventions, I saw the mascot to a strictly japanese game...It was a talking piece of shit. I kid you not. The mascot was a walking, talking pile of feces.
Then, on the same site, there was a photo of the newest game to hit the stores. You had an electronic finger and your objective was to shove it up an electronic ass.

God, what a weird culture.

Heh, whoa. I thought I've seen some weird games, but these seem to take the cake.

Apologies. While it may be strange when compared to other games that have made it stateside I agree with you that there lurk far stranger games in the giant phycho ward that is Japan.
If anyone has links to these sites showing the freaky ass Japanese arcade games I'd be interested to see. 😛

Ness's game sounds interesting, but...

You know, after surfing the net for so long I figured that there wouldn't be much out there that could take me by surprise.....but encountering either of the aforementioned games certainly would. Some programmer has been spending too much time in front of a computer.....but we sure have come a long way from Donkey Kong.

LOL. Well, I don't know if it could be considered a psycho ward, but they do tend to get a little...Liberated with their entertainment.
As for posting a link, I'm working on that. I stumbled across the site two years ago. My freind, however, found this site recently. If I can get the URL, I'll post a link for you.
Enjoy your game, ness. Nothing rocks more than finding a Video game that you'd thought you'd never see again.
*sigh*
Now, if I could only find and download Dragonwarrior off the net...

I wish I owned the game. Then again, I am one of the 10 people who don't own a PS2. I'm sure once my parents get up and get one for my lazy stupid brothers, I can appropriate it for my own uses, since it would be wasted on sports games with them anyway.

(No offense to those who like them. To me, they're a waste.) :snob:

Love to you all,

Rubyfruit!

LOL the only thing I can say for sports games is it's more entertaining than watching sports on tv. 😛
And dont feel too badly...I only finally upgraded my playing capability from an N64 a couple of months ago. 😛
