I'm just making sure, you guys are totally aware that the matter of pedophilia is pretty off-topic, right? I mean, just for example, Miranda Cosgrove (star of iCarly) is of high school age in a show targeted towards other high school teenagers. And, guess what? High school teenagers do strive to be attractive for each other, so it's more than natural for shows targeted to them to be just as appealing as they try to be to each other.

Are they trying to promote foot fetishism? Possibly. Better question is, why are you holier-than-thou adults watching them? 😉

Interesting. A thread about Nickelodeon (predominantly aimed at kids and teenagers, as you pointed out) promoting a foot fetish, discussed on an adult forum, which absolutely reeks of pedophilia, is off-topic now? :lol It has everything to do with the above.

Back on topic: I happen to be holier than thou (most of thou) for one simple reason: I don't watch Nickelodeon. If and when I turn the idiot box on, it's usually on the Science/Discovery channel. I have a "fetish" for information. 🙂

I know, you're gonna ask: why not national geographic? While they have some interesting programming, national geographic is the scientific community's equivalent to tabloid newspapers. 😉

That would be a definite yes. Arguing with people keeps me sharp. Sharpening my mind is more important to me than anything else.

Well i do know back in 95 they asked brothers and sister who where visiting the studio to tickle there brothers and sisters feet so i don't know if they promote it.

Hi. I've been a loyal viewer of Nickelodeon for many, many years now. One thing I've noticed is that over the past few years, Nick's line of comedy shows have been very "feetsy" lately. Shows like iCarly have been showing scenes involving feet, girls' feet I might add.

For Example...

* iCarly - (Carly and Sam rawing families on their toes and wiggling them to the addience, Sam getting a foot rub from a boy, the two girls shooting arrows at a picture of a foot, putting butter in sox, etc.)

* True Jackson VP - (the asian girl has her feet in the air with "Hi Oscar" written on them for a boy she likes)

* The Amanda Show - (People being dared to sniff feet / sox, and even the security guard ate a food sculpture of Amanda's foot while teasing it with "This Little Piggy".

Then another thing hit me, all of these shows in question have been made by the same guy, Dan Schnieder.

Do you think he has a foot fetish and is expressing that through these shows over the years? The majority of feet have been the girls of his shows so I'm beginning to think it's very possible.

What do you think?

To me, it seems to be just of the "Innocent" side of foot fetish that you would generally see; it's not like the whole episodes were centered around feet.

I suspect Zim was done in by a combination of both outthereness and budget. Damn shame, but just one of many programs over the decades that didn't show immediate numbers, and was summarily scraped by the execs before it had a chance to prosper. The episodes that were made are such a wonderful break from the usual TV-crap, it'll always have a special place for me.

Lately, I've been catching repeats of Malcolm in the Middle and Everybody Hates Chris on late nights on Nick. I'd seen many of the former, and it's nice revisiting the early seasons. The later is new to me, but every bit as much fun to watch.
