I just read a recent review of Terantinos new movie "Kill Bill" in the Boston Phoenix...I found one part of the review quite interesting...

"What this movie has is in-your-face fetishism, quite literally in the case of Uma Thurman’s feet, which dominate the screen with unhealthy frequency (true, her foot massage in Pulp was a key plot point, but was never shown)."

Yes, indeed he does.

Besides the two films mentioned by Moses, he directed "Jackie Brown" in 1997. It features extreme close-ups of the soles of Bridget Fonda's bare feet, on screen for quite a long time.

For those who share my interests, it is worth renting "Jackie Brown" just to play that scene over a few times. 😀

I'm not complaining. The Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction scenes definitely make me reach out for the pause/slow button. I've to watch From Dusk Till Dawn all the way through. Anything to see Juliette Lewis' and Salma Hayek's feet. Man, they so hot!

I think it's great that he's using this medium to be a standard bearer for the tootsie crowd, although his predilection for six foot two women who have basketball feet I don't quite share. Nevertheless, I'm totally for anything Quentin Tarantino comes out with. 🙂

And there's the quickie little shot of "Esmerelda Villa Lobos" the cab driver in Pulp Fiction, a shot mimiced with actress Julia Dreyfuss in Kill Bill. I don't remember any foot stuff in Resevoir Dogs, though. This topic was even brought up in one of Tarantino's biographies (can't recall which one). While he never outright admits it, he dances around the question well enought that those "in the know" can see the obvious answer....the book also mentions a painting that he owns of a sleeping barefoot female friend, plus he dated Mira Sorvino for a while, who would sometimes remove her heels at high class celeb functions. I get the feeling his director friend Robert Rodriguez has one, too. Put him on the list David Letterman, Sean Puffy Combs and the others....

But I'll never forgive Quinten for 'outing' us in Pulp Fiction and all the talk about what a foot massage "means". I used to rub a lot of nice feet safely and celebately before then... ha, try bringing up that topic now to a woman, post-Pulp; now they know you're a freak when ya make the offer. You will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengance upon thee!

You only feel that way because on some level, you're ashamed. I guess I'm a little self conscious too, I would certainly admit that. But I find that when I offer, my women friends are intrigued more than anything else. There were ones who were ready to take me up on the offer at work, but it just wasn't feasible there, if you know what I'm talking about...

Standard revenge plot action film, pretty well done. Lots of blood and gore, not for the squeamish.

We also get to see Julie Dreyfus's foot on a car pedal and quick shots of the all-girl band members' feet and Lucy Liu's also. 😀

I think the martial-arts training might have also taken a toll on Uma's feet, as I noticed her left big toenail was chipped on the side. 😱

Well, Mil, I kind of agree. I myself feel kind of funny about a woman with feet twice the size of mine, anyway.
I'm not crazy about blood and gore. Maybe when I rent it I'll just zip through the blood and the gore and go for the good stuff. I'm sure ol' Quent would understand 😀
