IN the UK a person can carry a kidney donation card, in the event of a fatal accident the organs can be used for research or to save a life, other organs can also be used if you wish, provided the family are informed and agree, all on a voluntary basis.Because we have less fatal accidents and live longer a shortage exists. Govenment have a bright idea, not in force yet, if you don't carry an opt out card organs will automatically be removed.What is the situation in the USA and what concerns do you have. I carry a donation card. but i'am not keen on the new idea. kind regards meteor.

In the state of Kentucky, you can consent to be a donor and a yellow sticker is placed on your driver's liscense. I've had mine that way since I moved here. I hope to also soon join the bone marrow pool for those that need a bone marrow/stem cell transplant
