This is from early 2002, something I just found in a folder that hasn't been opened in who knows how long. It's from a (then) 20-year old female's blog. I don't remember how I found it, maybe someone posted about it here. Maybe I had done a Google search on "ticklish" or "tickling", and came across it. We all used to do stuff like that back in the day, right camp? I still do from time to time! lol
Anyways, the blog was just a normal blog, talking about friends and clothes and TV shows, etc. At one point, she meets a guy named Jared and starts dating him. About a month or two later, she posts this.:
Don't Don't Tickle Me
When I first admitted that I was ticklish to Jared, he promised not to take advantage of it. "Oh, don't worry," he said. "I had a girlfriend before who was ticklish. I know not to do anything."
But over time, he started to break his promise. Sometimes he'd just tickle me a little, to make me on my guard, and then keep pretending like he was about to just so I'd tense up or try to squirm away. He also would threaten me with ticklings -- "I'm going to have to bring the peacock feather and give you the tickling of your life next time" was said just about every time I saw him, or when I teased him he'd come at me with wiggling fingers, saying, "Oooh, you're going to get it now!"
By little teasings every now and then, he managed to find a bunch of places where I'm vulnerable, and he remembers every one of them. He's found ticklish spots I didn't realize I had. There's this one little spot just below and behind my ear -- but then, when he starts me laughing and gets me in a ticklish mood, it seems like I'm ticklish just about anywhere.
When I try to tell him, he twists around my words. "Don't tickle me!" I'll say, and then he'll ask, "Don't what?" If I answer just "Tickle me!" he'll go, "Okay!" and if I say instead "Don't tickle me!" then he takes it as a double-negative: "Don't don't tickle you? Okay, I won't stop then!" If I try to take him to task for it later, he just grins and says, "Ticklish people are just too much fun." I suppose if I can't help messing up his hair all the time, it's sort of fair for him to use the same excuse about tickling me. Still, I don't feel it quite evens out to have messy hair versus being tickled until you can hardly breathe -- and I can't tickle him back. He's not ticklish.
So now Jared is starting to really use his knowledge of where I'm ticklish. He came after me tonight and tickled me so much that I couldn't stop laughing, except when I was shrieking. It was right before he had to leave. When he did finally go downstairs to put his shoes on, I was still laughing a little, and anything he said that was remotely funny set me off in a fit of giggles again.
I'm still laughing way too easily tonight. Tulsi's been complaining that I need to "get a grip." (I almost asked her, "Get a grip on what?" I mean that in the most innocent way possible, of course.)
Then again, maybe I shouldn't complain about Jared tickling me, since when he's doing that he's too busy to, er, give me any more bite marks. My neck is covered in purple splotches, and here I have class tomorrow. I guess it's time to start looking around to see if I still have cover-up.
