George Rich, 43, faked own burglary. According to a police report, he made him and his fiancee’s home look like it had been broken in. On the police report he claimed that among the many things stolen was a gold diamond engagement ring. When the weekly update on local pawnshop activity came out, detectives noticed his name on the list. Items he pawned: a gold chain and two gold rings, one of which was an engagement ring. He later admited to the detectives that he faked the burglary.
