Have all the doubters been silenced yet? I think its safe to say that Eli Manning is on his way to being a damn good quarterback after the Eagles game! :xpulcy: How good? Only time will tell. Hey at least he doesnt ride a motorcycle without a helmet! 😀

Just remeber Peyton handed him his ass when they played..........

I'm not convinced just yet.............

I wouldnt say that. Id say Giant penalties handed them their ass. :xlime:

Eli has a VERY long way to go to be a superstar. Let's see if he handles Seattle. He has won 4 games on the road in his short career while losing 8. Lets see more before you stick him in the Hall of Fame. Besides wasn't he sacked like 8 times in that game. Needs be a little more fleet of foot I would say. :jester:

Being able to shake off 8 sacks is all the more impressive when you consider the way he won the Eagle game. Not everyone is Micheal Vick in terms of pocket mobility. Eli is a pocket passer. Road games are tough but he just won a big one and that way to go to becoming a superstar like his brother got a whole lot shorter. Everyone knocks Eli for accuracy or mobility or whatever but at the end of the day if the Giants have a W then what does it matter if he underthrows a reciever here or there. In the Steelers first 2 Superbowl teams Terry Bradshaw had a career completion percentage of barely 50%. Anyone rememeber how many swing passes he missed? :veryhappy

You did not compare Eli Manning who has won NOTHING to Terry Bradshaw who has won 4 Superbowls, did ya??? You have to slow down. Breathe deep now. I watched Terry Bradshaw win all four of his Superbowls. You can't compare Eli or the Giants to Bradshaw or the great Steelers.

Oh im not. Im just saying the major knock on Eli is the ol' accuracy thing which I think will get better in time but im just trying to put it in perspective. Also give Eli time. He might just win some Superbowls! The Giants arent the Steelers of the '70s after all but this is Eli's second year starting. Theres another famous QB who had a barely 50% completion percentage. You might have heard of him...Joe Namath.

You are comparing Joe Willie to Payton's little brother either are you??? Joe Willie with no knees is better than Payton's little brother. Joe was brash. Joe was electric even before he put the uniform on. He gave the Jets instant creditability. He also won a ring with a gaureentee. Will Payton's little brother do that??? Gaureentee a Super Bowl for the Giants??? I don't think he has the stomach for that.

Give him time TF4U! You alluded that he's Peyton's LITTLE brother meaning he's young and needs to grow. Will he get a ring like Joe Namath? Who knows? As for his brashness, his playing on the field especially last sunday seems to speak for itself. I think the team is going to rally around this guy and be something special. Perhaps we got some 1980's throwbacks here! Peyton is Mr. Stats like Dan Marino and MAYBE (dont jump me!) Eli will be Mr. Comeback John Elway. Only time will tell. :Hyrdrogen

You are puting an awful lot of stock in one game. What if he lays an egg in Seattle and the Giants lose 24-10??? What if Eli goes 15 for 45 for 190 yards with 2 INT's and 5 sacks??? Will I be right??? NO!!! Will I be wrong??? NO!!! You are building up Eli based on one game. He still 4 and 8 on the road. And that John Elway bit makes me think you shouldn't go near a candy factory because they are looking for nuts like you.

Not just one game but 12! Whenever Eli is taking the snaps somehow, someway the Giants just win! Isnt that whats important at the end of the day. I agree tomorrow will be a big game for Eli but that one game last week against the Eagles might be Eli's "coming of age" game thats why I and other Giants fans put so much stock in it. One thing is sure that the Giants have a murderous schedule so you cant accuse Eli of playing soft games. Lets see tomorrow. I have a feeling youll be watching! 😉

Whenever Eli is taking snaps the Giants win??? That is so not true. They have lost 8 road games with Eli Manning. They lost that game in the playoffs in January to Carolina who shut them out. Eli couldn't even find the endzone. You need to step back and think. He has had some good games. He has had some bad games. He is right now a middle of the road quarterback. Let's see what he does this season before you put him in the Hall of Fame. As you eluded to earlier, the Giants have a tough schedule. The toughest in the NFL in fact. Let's see what he does. If he finishes the season 11-5 and wins the division he will get his props from me. If he doesn't win this division and he goes 8-8, I will hammer him. It is just the way I am. That is why I take the wait and see approach even with my QB Chad Pennington. Everyone wanted to compare him to Joe Montana. Well I don't see the rings that Joe Montana wears on Chad's fingers. Eli and Chad will be hammered by me until they prove themselves. It is just that simple.

Eli! Eli! Eli!

I'll just call him

THE NEXT BIG THING

Damn youre hard! 11-5 with that schedule? If they do that they have to be considered alongside the '85 Bears and '78 Steelers. Middle of the road QB? Maybe at the present moment. But they should have beaten the Seahawks last year if not if the 20 stupid penalties. Thats not Eli's fault. Thats the old Marino argument...if hes so great how come he has no Superbowl rings? Its because it takes an entire team to do so not just a QB. The Patriots might not have any rings if not for having the greatest kicker of all times. A kicker! Critique Eli for Eli's mistakes, fair is fair. As for the Panther playoff loss I agree though that Eli was clueless and was completely unprepared. Speaking of Joe Montana, if you put him on any of the Broncos 4 Super Bowl loss teams would they have won? No because the Orange Crush gave up 40+ points by like halftime. You have to look beyond the simple results and Superbowl rings. Trent Dilfer has a Superbowl ring...nuff said.

Marino had NO running game. You must have a balanced attack. Something that Payton's little brother does have. What would you think is a fair record??? 8-8 and not make the playoffs??? 11-5 is fair. If he is as GREAT as you say he is then that is more than fair. His schedule is only different from the rest of the division by a team or two. That whole NFC East does not have a picnic to deal with as far as schedules are concerned. Speaking of picnics, gotta go. Better not lose today or I will hammer him. 😱

Damn! Hes 24 years old and learning the game TF! A QB is a 3-4 year project. Sometimes 5. Now hes in Seattle against a tough team. His players are comitting penalties left and right so take all into account before you hammer him. Your guy Chad looks pretty good against that tough Bills defense so you should be fairly happy. You got a rebuilding project going on while the Giants are in the hunt. Of course you have the right to hammer whomever you want but just take everything into account. And Marino had some good runners that I can remember. You make an excuse for mighty Marino so you must take into account things for Eli.

Hey not a bad half for the guy who turned the corner last week. 8 for 16 65 yards and of course 3 INTs. Yeah, I am watching this game and it is giving me the shits. 😱

Its giving me the shits too...just not in the same way its giving you the shits I think! :ranty: The entire Giant team is a complete disaster! Its not only Eli who sucks! **SIGH!!!** New York has never been a football town. Now I know why. If I hear "false start" one more time I think ill get a lot more than the shits! :wowzer:
