Embedding YouTube links?

I was wondering how difficult it would be for the administrators to enable users the ability to embed YouTube links, as they can currently do over on our big sister board, the mighty TMF?

You know, have the direct link in the post, so that a reader could click directly and watch the video?

It's not difficult to do; we keep it disabled because of abuse (potential or otherwise). When Flash/HTML is enabled you open up the possibility for users to post material that can a) contain malicious code, b) be of such size as to make dial-up users (or even users of lower-tier broadband connections) want to end their lives or c) be so processor-intensive as to cause browsers to freeze. There have been instances on the TMF where such occurred (signatures especially) and we prefer to keep it clean here.

Ah, very good, then. Thanks for your speedy and thoughtful reply in the matter, HDS. It's been a long while since I had to suffer through the sort of page-load Hell that dial-up can cause, but that's reason enough right there!
