eMule is killing me-any suggestions?

Finding files is not the problem - slow downloading is. Does anybody have any idea how to speed things up? Any help will be appreciated.

First make sure you get a good balance of uploading. It should be enough to give you credit, but it shouldn't take over 80% of your line, because it blocks communications.

I had to reduce my uploading from 12Kb to about 8-7Kb to make my downloads increase.
