Endings are Hard

At least I find it hard to come up with good endings for stories. Beginnings and initial scenarios are relatively easy for me to come up with, but endings are hard.

And if I can't devise good endings, I can at least grouch about it, right? I have 3-4 stories right now, all well started (a thousand or more words into each of them) but all with problems in doing good endings.

Can some of the other authors here offer advice on story endings? Help?

I did this in my story, The Giggle Collector and I'm doing that now in my piece called, The Tickle Demon.
Think of the stories as ordinary people, doing as they wish. They will lead you to how it will end. You needn't force it. Like death, it will come when it will come

SableSword, for me it's just the opposite. I have all sorts of great intro's and ending, but getting from one to the other is the challenge for me.

To me, the ending is just what wraps this event in the story up. The world doesn't end with an ending of the story (unless you really do plan to end the world in an apocalyptic manner). So, this story in their life finished, what do the protagonists/antagonists do? What are their goals/plans? Where will they go from now?

Answers to stuff like that is how I tend to wrap up stories.

I tend to keep my intros and endings really short. As Diablo said just wrap things up. Or let it open a bit maybe you think of a sequel?

"Just wrap it up" doesn't work for me. If I try to just "wrap" the result isn't a story with a story-ending but just a limp piece of narrative.
