.....dear oh dear!! feels more like a bloody funeral after watching us struggle to beat Austria 1-0 at Old Trafford. Christ !what a total shambles of a side we are at present. Beckham, the England captain, now has the worst disciplinary record in the entire history of our National side, after being sent off for the second time while wearing the three Lions.

The fourthcoming midweek fixture against Poland is now virtually meaningless, but I am not sure if i am happy about that or not!!

On a happier note, well done to the USA who have also qualified for the finals today!

I'll be rooting for England and the USA in the World Cup. England's long overdue to win (its only World Cup championship was in 1966) and of course the USA's never made it to the final. The competition is tough but if France can win it (1998) anyone can. 😀

England will have to improve tenfold if they are to have any impact in the World Cup. We haven't put in a good performance for some time now.

Everything is clear Poland & England qualified, but i hope that players of both teams are intrested in taking 1st place and
match on wednesday won't be only a friendly competition. :wavingguy

question for red indian...

what would be the best field or stadium to visit in england?

I could answer that. In England Old Trafford in Manchester is currently the biggest in the country, with a 67,000 capacity. The new Wembley Stadium when completed will be bigger and more impressive. What makes the 'best' stadium is down to opinion, but those are the grandest.

The team is a shambles at the moment, no doubt about it. Sven is an absolutely clueless manager. Here's my prediction: If we go into next year's World Cup with Eriksson as manager (as we certainly will), we will not win it. And considering the players we've got now, that's a bloody crime.

As much as I would love to see the US in the final, I know it won't happen...not for a long, long time at least. England has the talent, thats for damn sure...Crappy record or not, Beckham is the best!! ..I am finding it hard to believe that England is struggling as much as they are; what with the likes of Rooney, Owen, Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard...the list goes on and on, lol. I think England will get it together though, and I expect them to go far in the world cup.

The reason England are struggling is because Sven Goran Eriksson is such a useless manager. His problems:

- He repeatedly puts players out of position (e.g. Beckham in the middle, when he is clearly best on the right)
- He plays stupid formations which facilitate the above, e.g. by putting Beckham in the holding role of a 'diamond formation' instead of on the right of a standard 4-man midfield
- He makes pointless substitutions, often taking off the best players and replacing them with someone who sucks (what the hell is the deal with Owen Hargreaves?). He has an obsession with subs and feels that since they are there, he HAS to use them.
- When things go wrong, he doesn't go out onto the touchline and shout some instructions; he just sits there with a dopey look on his face, clueless.

Often, people say, 'It's down to the players, not the manager'. But when you are playing for your country, you haven't played with a lot of the other guys before. You don't gel as a team. You need to be given tacit instructions about what your role in the team is and what you're supposed to be doing. The England players don't get this, which is why they often look so clueless as a unit.

The other thing is that Eriksson seems to have no passion. He doesn't appear to have the motivation, which is passed onto the players so that not one of them seems to put in any effort - except Wayne Rooney, who is a law unto himself, and these days is usually the best England player on the pitch when he plays.

The left wing has always been a problem, but it's true we have oodles of talent. Beckham, Gerrard and Lampard are a frightening midfield combination, but they need a capable left-footed midfielder in that mix. And our defence is world class with Terry and Campbell in the centre. The firepower of Rooney cannot be denied either. Yeah, I suppose Sven is losing touch these days. He never was bad, let me remind you. I'm suprised nobody mentioned the 5-1 thrashing we gave Germany four years ago under his tutelege.

The best stadium???.......

....thats easy mate, never mind Old Trafford and that bunch of greedy, paranoid, primadonnas. Get yourself off to PRIDE PARK in Derby to see the mighty RAMS!!!

Beckham, thick as pig shit???........

.....during an interview after his sending off (the only player ever to be sent off twice in an England shirt) he said that for the first yellow he was booked for raising his arms when jumping in to the tackle, and that raising your arms in the Spanish league is always going to be a booking, and that as all three officals were from the spanish league this was likely to happen of a player raised his arms going in to a heading tackle.

He also told his team mates that the ref was "a bit of a bastard" and that Beckham had had a few disputes with this ref i the past.

Where does beckham ply his trade to have such expert knowledge of this particular ref and his officials???..........yep you guessed it folks!!! the spanish league. So clearly he should have been the last player on the pitch to have been booked for this type off foul.

What a fucking thick twat.

Thing is, though, that was never a booking. You can't physically jump for a header without raising your arms. And the second offense was a complete dive. So the sending-off was harsh, although having just been booked he shouldn't have lunged in like that.

The first one was laughable, too. That retarded little flick that caused Diego Simeone to writhe around on the floor as if he'd been poleaxed. It was a stupid thing to do, but a shitty little kick like that isn't worth a red card. Don't even get me started on Kim Milton Nielsen...

Should soooooooooo not have got the red card, and I'm not exactly a Beckham fan but at this level it's unfair of the ref to be making decisions that are so clearly wrong. :sowrong:

5-1 ay I just forgot that one, then I'm sure 1966 will be brought up soon as well. But hey we have 3 world cups 3 Euro cups making us the strongest in Europe.

Congratulations to England making it but seriously you gotta lay off Sven, as someone said earlier here you got Beckham, Gerrard and Lampard very strong mid, my not blame them for not winning. On the pitch it comes down to the players its not like Sven is pulling a shot across goal or letting a striker get behind him.

I think times are changing the power teams will struggle, Germany is playing like bitches and I blame Klinsman for that it should of been the old Bayern coach or even Beckenbauer. I just hope a south American doesnt win it, I still have nightmares from 2002

No-one ever disputed that one. :blaugh:

Mind you, that Stephen Hawking is crap at football. 😀

Sorry lads......

....I think you are wrong on this, the first WAS a booking, and Becks admitted he knew in advance it would be! so why fucking do it then????

You have all failed to mention the nasty second dig Becks had at the same player a few seconds later, but which the ref let go.

The third hack at the same player, which Becks pulled out of at the last minute (realising how close it was to the penno box) was a gift for the Austrian player and he milked it, not suprisingly.

Of course, Beckam, playing in the Spanish league, knows all about this kind of cynical stuff.......Dooh!!!!
