Ok, after my 5th time, I noticed a few things...

The cow/bloated bug-like things in the field where Anakin and Padme have thier little scene show up later as an inside joke. One is floating around to the right of the screen briefly during the Geonosis asteroid chase and another blows up during the final battle scene.

As Padme's ship approaches Naboo for a landing, keep your eye to the left of the screen for a quick shot of the Millenium Falcon.

Qui-Gon Jinn's disembodied voice can be heard during the lightsaber fight between Anakin and Dooku, and yes it's confirmed that Liam Neeson did the uncredited voice-over. Listen carefully for an Episode III plot point.

Anybody else notice anything weird?

I remember the E.T.'s in the senate box from Episode I showing up very clearly the first time I saw it, and they did a much more devious job of hiding the Easter Eggs this time around.😎

Ya missed this one.............

In the Coruscant nightclub scene, right after Obi-Wan disarms Zam Wessel (literally), several patrons turn to look at the ruckus. There are two men in navy blue officer's uniforms chatting up a pair of Twi'lek girls. I believe that they are Anthony (C-3PO) Daniels and Ahmed (Jar Jar Binks) Best out of costume, as it were.

Yes MadKalnod, It was them. I saw them to. The alien guy trying to sell Obi-Wan Deathsticks was Matt Doran(known as the character Mouse from the "Matrix" creator of the Lady in Red).

Dave, I saw the Corellian freighters on the land to Naboo. Only because I heard about them being in the film at that part in advance. Otherwise I probably wouldn't have seen them. I tried to see the X-wings and Tie fighters in the Coruscant chase but couldn't find them.

I've been waiting for a thread like this! Cool stuff! But what's with the red X on the Venray post?

In the Alex Cox film Straight To Hell some characters smoke a cigarette called "Commando Deathsticks", but don't know if there is any real connection.

The goateed Jedi that tosses Anekin his light saber in the arena fight, was that one of the boy band kids?

I noticed something else the second time I saw the film.... One of the little Jedi kids was named Liam! The one who pulled down the shades.

And I saw a little Viet Nam influence, maybe. Since Lucas came from this generation and knew of people personally who went there, it's possible that I'm not imagining it. The 1st bit: The Naboo ship exploding at the beginning. This reminded me of the helecopter blowing up on the ground from Copalla's film Apocalyps Now (The director is a friend of Lucas). Second, little orphan Ani killing all the Sandpeople - totally William Calley. And finally, the clone troops hanging out of their fighters, firing, and the movement of these ships, that reminded me of U.S. forces in their Huey helecopters.

Plus, Ani and Boba have similar traits. Aniken wanted to kill all the Sandpeople out of revenge. Boba wanted to kill all the Jedi out of revenge. Why didn't Vader in the later films start a campaign to destroy all the Sand People?

I thought I saw a Bespin twin pod cloud car, but it was so fast.....

Although the lightsaber duels are a mix of styles, Dukoo's style was based more on French/European swordfighting (The salute with the saber, the lesser use of his free arm, even his curved handle is a European foil design). Yoda appeared to be using a more Eastern martial art style, with the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon"
style swordplay and spinning legwork.

I Say Ahmet Best and Anthony Daniels. I saw the Falcon (couldn't it just be a similar type/class ship as the Falcon, though?) and I saw the exploding cow. Didn't hear Qui-Gonn's voice at all, nor did the people that I told to listen for it.

a friend of mine claims that during the final scene where Dooku is flying toward the new Imperial pa1ace on Coruscant to meet Sidious, that you can see the New York skyline, complete with Statue of Liberty, in the background. I kept an eye out and the skyline did indeed look familiar to the far left of the screen, but I didn't see no statue.

(WTF does this forum bleep out the word pa1ace?!)

Not sure on the ****** thing, Phineas, but there was a word I tried to type into a post once that came across as **** until I changed it. Perhaps some words are part of code that the computer recognizes as such?

Another little subtle thing, and I'm probably the only guy other than the CGI artist who put it there who caught the joke, but in Dexter's Diner, the waitress droid has a nametag which reads "Flo" in Aurubesh.

You and the CGI artist are maybe the only people who know what Aurubesh is....

Aurubesh? Is that what they speak in Aurubah?

About the Qui-Gon Jinn's disembodied voice...
I didn't hear his voice during the lightsaber battle between Anakin and Dooku but I did hear it when Anakin is killing the sand people.
Actually it is when Yoda is meditating, you can hear Qui-Gon Jinn's disembodied voice screaming "No, Annie..."

Aurubesh is a written form of Galactic Basic, official language of the Empire. It appears on various monitor screens in Episodes II and VI. Check out Boba Fonts for a trio of downloadable versions.

Boba Fonts

I can read and write in it, which is probably my geekiest ability.

>>Actually it is when Yoda is meditating, you can hear Qui-Gon Jinn's disembodied voice screaming "No, Annie..."<<

I was wondering who was saying that! No one's lips were moving at that part.... but what's this about a clue about Episode 3?
