Arenaactor, I couldn't agree more! (By the way, I give AOTC 4 1/2 stars, see my review).

Hollywood hates Lucas. They have to. First off, movie critics simply must be seen as better than the average blockbuster. So what if a movie is loved by millions and has made a gazillion bucks by people willingly parting with thier hard-earned cash? If a reference to Shakespeare or a touching insight into the characters sexuality isn't explored...it has to suck. Screw 'em.

In 1976, George Lucas made fools out of everyone in Hollywood. Rather than accept his directing salary, he instead opted for licencing rights to his product. This was unheard of back then. There was no such thing as Burger King tie-ins, massive toy lines or merchandising in the scope that we are now used to. Thusly, Lucas has been able to do whatever he wants with his franchise, and Hollywood can't do a thing about it. There are no producers from Fox telling him where to go with his story, no way to adjust things to the latest demographic study...and they hate him for it. Add to this the fact that most huge productions are forced to turn to ILM (Lucas's own company) for effects and THX (Lucas again) for sound...and you'll never get a good review on any Star Wars film.

What he's done has been to make the most successful independant films in the history of movies. Fox is only leased the rights to release the films, the rest comes out of George's own pocket.

So the next time somebody wants to bitch about the "non-arthouse-feel" of a Star Wars film...let's see them finance their own movie, invent thier own style of special effects that will be used to change film forever and bring the world the next phase of modern myth.

I loved this movie!!!!😎

episode 2

I must say it is up there with empire...I loved the movie...it set everything up right. Contrary to what people are saying, it does have a story, and it does set into motion very well the events that lead Anakin to the dark side, as well as the relationships that continue in 4-6. But the best part...YODA KICKS ASS. WHEN YOU SEE THE MOVIE YOU SEE THERE IS A REASON WHY HE IS THE ULTIMATE JEDI BAD ASS. I must say Lucas did good. And also, you see the need (I never thought I would be saying this) for stupid Jar Jar Binks. He stupidity and naiveté sets in motion dark things to occur. All around I give it a 10 out of 10. Best one next to Empire. Bring on the next one.

I thought I saw one of them in there in one shot, but I cant be sure. Someone said he put his daughter in it too. If you see it look at the first few seconds in the arena when the Jedi's come out. it is one of the first shots that I thought I saw on of them.

Awesome...

That(IMHO) is an excellent film. I had a great time watching this film.

No, the Backstreet boys scene was cut (thats what I read sometime ago on the net). If they were in it I sure didn't see them.

I have a question for all of you Star Wars no it all's. And, to my mind, it is the biggest slip up that Lucas had ever made. Whenever a Jedi dies, or is killed, even anakin as Darth Vader, they all disapear mere seconds following their death (well Obi Wan disapeared before death)...my question is why doesn't Qui-Gon, a great jedi night on the good side of the force, disapear after he is killed? They have to burn him quite a while (I am assuming that night) after he dies. How come he is the only jedi that doesn't dispear into the either. I was trying to watch today druing attack to see if any of the Jedi's who died during the Colisium and subsequent battle disapeared, but they dont stay there so no one can tell. Unless I missed something. BUT WHY DON'T QUI GON DISAPEAR? Oh, and I did read the novel and it never stated anything either. And if jar jar disapears when he dies i am gonna be pissed.

Contrary to popular belief, not all Jedi fade into the Force when they die. I can't give you an exact reason, but from all of the reading and references I've done, I assume that it has something to do with how complete one's existence was. Qui-Gon may have been struck down before he was truly at peace with the force. Remember, he was something of a rogue. Also, in the New Jedi Order series of novels, Anakin Solo's body was returned to Han and Leia by his sister after his death on a Yuuzhan Vong worldship. He was the one that even Luke thought of as his heir apparant, so there's another arguement for an incomplete life before death. Just my theory. 😎

hmmm well I know that Lucas said the rules of the films don't follow the rules that other writers (which I believe he aplies to his scripts) created for the sanctioned novels, and he said that he wrote all the tirlogy stories to follow the rules that he had laid out in 4-6 to make sure everything gelled when all put together. so with that in mind, every jedi that dies in the movies (his world) disapears except qui gon. I am thinking he either spaced it, or he wanted the scene where obi wan tells anakin that he will be allowed to train as a jedi as the jedi who found and championed him is burning. but he does violate the rules. oh well. my favorite line from the movie is obi wan telling anakin "You're going to be the death of me Anakin."

i took it to be an age thing

obi wan kenobi, and yoda were very old when they died.
where as qui gon jin was relativly young. i assumed that was why the older guys went poof.
