I impart to you, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, and various other self aware life forms, a small bit of my wisdom. Its time for a little fireside chat about the real world. See, the thing about the real world is that it generally sucks, and so we all have our various mental escapes. For some, its the comfort of a significant other, a good book, favorite tv show, or hell, some people use weed every now and again. To each his own I say. My own escape has been comic books. Over the last year life has kinda gone down hill, thus, comic books, namely captain america, have become my best friend. I just like getting lost in the action, the story, the drama, and reading about somebody who is everything I'm not. So I'm curious, what do any of you guys use as a little reprieve from reality??

I write manuals on tickling.

I'm quite serious about that too.

That's super-cool! There aren't many of them out there, save "Erotic Tickling" (can't remember the author). Where can I get one of 'em?

My own escape? Digging for music, clothes, funky old stuff, etc. in thrift shops!

I use my music, the computer,I write in my blogs,I talk to people mostly.I find older people are very wise because they have so much life experience that I try and listen and learn from them so I don't have to make the same mistakes they did.
Of course you inevitably will make mistakes of your own and have problems but talking to your Grandma or Grandpa or somebody around their age can really give you some excellent advice.

the hollywood brother likes sports alot. it is a good escape. also reading and watching television helps as well

Used to be books or movies would help me to escape, latley though music and a little smoke every now and then is the preferd method.

The world ain't so bad... your life is what you make of it.

And I wouldn't say I escape into it... more, for relaxation, I walk, write, play video games... hell, from time to time, I even "draw" (if that can be called drawing).

I read...nothing like a good book to help you escape life's realities every once in a while..or i'll watch an old movie..

I much agree with Duke, my hobbies are much the same as his, except for the drawing, hell just add more watching and such.

Seriously though, anything can be an escape, even work, as long as your life has some purpose in it, even if its something trivial, can distract you from anything you have a problem with.

Its however when all that ends and you have nothing left to distract you that you're mind wanders back to that.

Humans are essentially machines, like any other lifeform, we are designed to work, without that our minds and bodies break down.
