The calls!
Chris Lytle vs. Thiago Alves
Should be a simple enough fight. It stays up, Lytle gets knocked out. It goes to the ground, Alves taps. Who do YOU like?
MY CALL: Alves by TKO
Frank Edgar vs. Spencer Fisher
Another fun fight. Edgar's a tough guy. No doubt there. Fisher is the guy they want to give a title shot to in the worst possible way. He's got too much talent for Edgar all-around.
MY CALL: Fisher by Decision
Ryo Chonan vs. Karo Parysian
What a debut for Chonan. Both guys have title shot written all over them. Once Hughes is done with Serra and GSP's done with Hughes, both these guys could pose a threat. With the way things have been going for PRIDE fighters in their debut's this year though, I gotta give the edge to Karo for his experience.
MY CALL: Parysian by Decision
Joe Doerkson vs. Ed Herman
Of all the fights Dave Terrell had to get injured before.... Should be the chance Herman needs to step up his game after a lack-lustre performance after TUF 3.
MY CALL: Herman by Decision
Houston Alexander vs. Thiago Silva
Silva's a tough guy. No question there. But unless someone can get Alexander down and keep him there long enough to submit him, he's not stopping until he gets a title shot.
MY CALL: Alexander by KO/TKO
Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping
I don't know what it is, but the guys I find the most annoying and that I could care less about keep winning TUF contracts. Both these guys like to stand and trade. Both these guys have ground skills. Here's the thing: Evans' last fight, he would have won if Ortiz had gone down instead of grabbing the cage. Evans would have had him cold. Granted, I don't think Evans is a better fighter than Ortiz. It was just his night. I don't know what fight the judges were watching, but Matt Hamill beat Michael Bisping. Hamill got robbed, plain and simple.
That being said, Rashad Evans: good enough to hang with the big boys. Michael Bisping: questionable and hasn't been tested against anyone the calibur of Tito Ortiz, let alone holding his own against them. Should go the distance though.
MY CALL: Evans by Decision.
See you on Saturday!
