Ever thought of Catfishin someone?

I'm a real person and am willing to meet with anyone. It may not go anywhere. Misrepresentation of self is part of why that might happen. However, when I have met people from the internet, I have generally been pleasantly surprised. Not always, of course. See above re: misrepresentation. There's a difference between choosing your most flattering photos and ... sharing photos of yourself from previous decades. *smh

If you share a pic of a person you couldn't possibly be mistaken for anymore, you should not share it. Otherwise, public places, levels of trust, etc., and meeting new friends is awesome. 🙂

I just can't for the life of me understand how anyone can feel the need to fake being who they are to deliberately screw with another persons life. The individuals who think doing such a thing is "fun" or they do it because they have some sort of issue with who they are in reality really need to spend less time online and more time speaking to a psychologist.

I was tricked in elementary school that some boy liked me. Only to find out later he was made up by a couple of girls. Guess that's what happens when you're the least popular in school.

I agree with gilmour. I can't understand why someone would feel that doing such a thing is funny, or cute, or even harmless. We open ourselves up to someone who we think is some kindred spirit only to be humiliated that we got suckered. If the person is hurting or whatever, they need to talk to someone just like gilmour said.

I have done it before to make sure someone is real. Took a lot of searching, Googling, etc. It takes me a while to trust someone on the net that I haven't seen proof of who they are. I mean, pictures are a start, but even that can't always be trusted.
