With being able to type subscripts and superscripts, you should have said:

y=log_b(x) if and only if x=b^y
 
You could also note that 2^4 = 4^2, and that that is only solution for positive integers a and b not equal of a^b = b^a. 😀
 
Indeed, there are infinitely many pairs of positive real numbers that satisfy the same equation, x^y = y^x. 😀
