face book questions

the hollywood brother is wondering how many people on this great forum use facebook and how do they like it? also why do it seems that facebook is killing myspace and is facebook the one true networking site or is there another one that you got to sign up on that will take facebook place someday? also do anyone have a problem with the term friends on these network sites? it seems like many people just try to see how many friends they can get on there network site when in reality most of these so called friends are either only fair weather friends or people that would not be there for you in a emrgency when it counts?

it just seems to the hollywood brother that you got to keep signing up to these network sites and then it is a popularity contest to see how can get the most hits or the most friends. the hollywood brother see where thsi can be good but could there be a negative with face book and myspace and other sites like this as well?

yea i'm a member of facebook but only because a friend asked me to come on but i like myspace more but i feel the same way i don't understand why people like it more then myspace

i am a memeber on both. ever since my myspace has been hacked into i rarely use it.. facebook for me is much safer.

I nominally use Facebook to keep in touch with a handful of friends who use it. I have a few Myspace and other accounts, which I do not use at all, because I find their websites to be slow and spammy.

I'm on both...and more of my friends are on Facebook, so I hang out there. Also, my Myspace was hacked, FB wasn't. I think MySpace is trashy at this point, and I only check it occasionally.

the hollywood brother thanks people for there input. recently the hollywood brother has been feeling pressure to sign up on facebook from some of the people that he knows. the hollywood brother sees how addicted these people are and the fact thatthey spend 5 or 6 hours daily on facebook plus all they do is brag about how many friends seems to bother the hollywood brother a little

Just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean it won't. Nothing on the internet is "safe".

I used to like myspace better, but now I like facebook. You can't change the look of your profile so there's no chance of clicking someones facebook page and your computer blowing up because they have a whole mess of flashing pictures and music and stuff.

Also, on facebook, I don't think it's as advertised how many friends a person has. I know on myspace it will say "so and so has 123213213 friends", but I haven't seen anything like that on facebook.

Facebook is less of a popularity contest, I think, because there is a lot of information on your page. My first and last name are on mine since I signed up for college about four years ago, so I chose to keep my profile and pictures and info private except to my friends and I only add people I know.

I"ve also been asked to join Facebook by my sister and various friends..when i did go in once and tried to make a profile etc...i couldn't figure out how to do anything..so i just left..i can talk to my friends and sister via IM...

Love facebook...

A few high school and college friends sent me invites on various occassions and I joined in (I think) last August(?). I haven't regretted it. I have hooked up with friends from high school, college, past lovers, fishing pals and several relatives. I agree with it being a much more 'friendly' and practical site. I did get a virus when I first joined though. A system bomb as it was called. Pissed me off, but since then no problems as well.

it seems to the hollywood brother that the idea of the facebook is not a bad one to reconnect with old people that you lost contact with. perhaps someday the hollywood brother will open a hollywood brother facebook page or one under the hollywood brother super secret identity of a mild mannered all american hard working rock and roller who works hard to make ends meet and to live the american dream.
