A little joke about Faith...funny, but still meaningful...
Roger, a pious man who spent his life in the service of Our Lord, was trapped in a flash flood during his latest Mission. As the waters began to rise, Roger climbed a tree. After several minutes a boat happened by.
"Swim to the boat!" said the occupant of the small craft, "Let me save you!"
"No," said Roger, "Use the space for someone else, the Lord will save me."
After a half-hour, the waters rise further, forcing Roger higher up the tree. Another boat comes along, its passengers all beckoning Roger to claim the last available space.
"No," Roger again replies, "Find another more in need, I have Faith in my God, he will save me."
As more time passes, Roger is forced to the very top of the tree as the waters continue to rise. A helicopter appears and drops a rope ladder, the pilot calling for roger to grab it.
"No," Roger answers again, "Find another poor soul, I have God to save me."
The waters rise further and Roger drowns.
He finds himself in Heaven, walking with the Lord.
"God," he says, "I don't understand. All of my life has been devoted to you, my Faith was strong even in the face of death. Why did you not save me?"
"My son," God replied, "I don't understand it myself, after all...
...I did send two boats and a helicopter."
Take it where you can get it, folks, it's not always a burning bush or a parted sea.😀 😎
