Families and Tickling

I know this kind of thread has been brought up before but I thought I'd bring it up again. My parents as long as I have known them are not into tickling. Well, my Mom is some because she has given me tickles here and there . My Dad on the other hand isn't into tickling and it's a shame because I wish he were . I mean can tickling be genetic? Is it there are just some families that are just into it and others are not? Could it be a combination of genetics and environmental factors?


Just would like to know what your opinions are on this forum.

Well as I have stated numerous times my parents must have been into tickling because they were always tickling my bare feet from age 5 till I could defend myself. I think they were embarrassed by it to themselves. I had a major tickle fetish for my Aunt's feet and my mother would tell me I was perverted and she would tell my father, who was an old fashioned Ukranian and handled all problems one way. But yet they tickled my feet all the time. I still acted out my foot tickling fetish all the time on every female I could. So I know where I got my foot tickling fetish from. I am just glad it is for women and not my sons like my father and mother had or me. Hoped I was of some help.

As a matter of fact my father use to tickle my mother all the time too, and my father use to get his feet tickled in the morning by my younger sister. So again with all this tickling in the family I was the one who was a pevert. Thank God I don't feel that way now!!!!!!!!!!!!

A little bit of tickling takes place mainly on my dad's side but, then they like to pick and play anyway. The female cousins -if it was them- who used to tickle me so much as a kid, had a father who enjoyed sneaking up behind women and briefly goosing them on the sides. I'm assuming he was a ticklephile and that his fetish rubbed off on them. They say they used to tickle another male cousin until he wet himself because they thought it was funny. So for me tickling is something I experienced first hand and took a liking too. That coupled with my love for joking and playing makes me an avid tickler with itchy fingers.

I think the people who've replied so far are very lucky. Why couldn't my parents, especially my Dad tickled me more? I mean it's just not fair . I had cousins but most of them are older than me and I didn't have a close relationship with them .


Oh well, I am beginning to think that part of it is genetics. I think my grandparents on my Dad's side just tickled me one time when I was much younger. We were sitting in a car and I was sitting between them and we we just having fun and they both tickled me briefly.

My family tickle experiences were mainly limited to my two aunts, in pre puberty times, say around the age of 12. One aunt, who is now in her mid 60s, but then was maybe early 40s, had extremely ticklish feet, and would giggle her head off every time I even touched her feet. The other aunt, who is now 58, was then about 35, the age Iam now, and she was moderately to very ticklish, but not extremely. The experiences happened over say maybe a year period when I was 12-13, and occurred maybe 3 times with each aunt.
I think I did tickle my mom's feet once, but nothing memorable stands out. I once saw my father run his fingers down her bare foot, and all she did was curl her toes, laugh a bit, and say "I hate you", when he did that.
Iam an only child, so I didnt have any sisters to tickle, and I dont have any memories of tickling female cousins, so the ones I listed are the only ones I have.

P'S As for being tickled by family members, not much really happened. My paternal grandfather got my sides a few times, but he died when I was 12, so that didnt happen too many times.

I don't think any of my family are ticklephiles. I can't remember any tickling in the family to be honest. It's weird, I'm not quite sure where I get my fetish from. I don't even know if they're ticklish there's been that little tickling within the family.

Tickle starved?! Hmmmm I like that! It's possible because of the lack of tickling in your family it has made the desire stronger! Here's a question Jen, was there a lot of tickling at school, on the playground, day care, or with your friends/dates etc.? If there was were you involved or just a witness? Did you feel "left out" if there was tickling going on around you? Were you the 'lee' or the 'ler'?

Depending on your answers this may not be "genetic" but just a way you associate affection!! Just some thing to think about!

I think I got my tickle fetish from my Dad. He gave me one or two tickles in my lifetime. He seems to be content with it. But my mom, on the otherfoot, looks at tickling like its a sin. I bet if I'd lived with my Dad as a kid, I would've been tickled alot more.

Well Illtcklu you have hit the nail on the head. I have had some tickles in my life but not nearly as much as some of these other folks. I would say that I was more of a witness to tickling and yes sometimes I did feel jealous or left out when I witness the tickling of someone else. I am human I couldn't help it. I didn't encounter tickling at school, on dates, or hardly with friends. There were a couple of times but that's it. I mean when I am on a first date with someone you shouldn't tickle them because they may not like it.

My Dad made me feel bad about it also. You see I asked him if he and my uncle (his brother) got tickled when they were younger and he said yes sometimes. Then when ever I discussed tickling with him, he accused me of being obsessive with it and I didn't feel I was obsessive. He made me feel very bad about it I mean it's not like I mentioned it to him every day or anything . I think that was part of my problem. I think he's confusing obsession with passion and that's a shame. You see his brother is a very smart man but he's got a very cold personality. I don't get the warm and fuzzy feelings around him.

I apologize if I am rambling on but I feel that I should tell it like it is. My Mom on the other hand didn't have a good relationship with her two older brothers. She had a good relationship for a while with Lance the middle brother until his marriage broke up and then their relationship wasn't good anymore. I could go on but I think you get idea of what my family life was like. I mean there were plenty of good moments in my life but I just wanted to share why I have been limited in the tickling department.

Hello, Jen I didn't respond yesterday to this as I was doing some activities with a couple of friends! I find your answer very thought provoking. I haven't really processed it all yet! But there are things I can explain to you right away! First off maybe your DAD was the one with the obession, after all he seemed uncomfortable with your questions or you bringing it up! Listen to the way some 'lers' talk on this forum about how shy they are about this( I will gladly talk more closely about this in PM's) how they're afraid everyone will see through them! As a 'ler' I confess I feel awkward tickling a child(it can seem like it's wrong)though no one has accused me of ever harming or touching a child in a bad way, cause tickling isn't! But it can still feel strange!

Dang, Jen. That's beatup. I sort of know the alienation you feel but, atleast you have outlets that some of us don't. You've been to the NEST and probably even know some of the other members here personally. There are still many that will never have that either because they're too scared to try or are held back by something else. Still, I hope you manage to find the answers you seek.

I really appreciate your responses and understanding. I was at this past NEST and it was great. Unfortunately, I didn't know about the social at the hotel and also I didn't have a car in town at that time. Also I have learned from some people since NEST that more tickling happens at the hotel that at the actual event. I also learned about NEST the week before it happened from someone else so I did attend last minute. I will definitely be attending the one next year.
