The rumor has been going around for awhile. I'm going to this year's "Just For Laughs" comedy festival in Montreal, and the cast of Family Guy is going to be doing a live reading. Apparently there is to be some info on the future of Family Guy. If I hear anything from the horse's mouth, I'll post it here.
I sincerely hope the show comes back. It is my all-time favorite show, and the funniest, wittiest and edgiest thing to grace TV.

I heard about the live Family Guy reading at Just For Laughs... it sounds like a lot of fun, and I'm bummed that I can't go. Dave, have a great time and I hope you'll come back with good news about the show.

I found an article where they were talking about it's possible return

This article was writen before an official agreement was reached between Fox and Seth MacFarlane, the shows creator. But I know that it is returning. I can't find any article on it, but it was reported by Shepard Smith on Fox News, whose parent company owns Fox, that it is returning as the article described about a month and a half ago. I have even searched teh Foxnews.com site.
What I would like to see MacFarlane and Comedy Central do is a spin-off of one of the characters that he does for CRANK YANKERS. It is a gumshoe character called "Dick Rodgers". In the episode I saw he calls up a Gay bar called "Boots and Saddles" to complain that he came in to "throw a burbon or two back and talk to a pretty lady. YOUR JOINT SERVED ME A DRINK WITH AN UMBRELLA THAT HAD A STREISAND PICTURE SET ON IT AND THE ONLY LADY I TAKED TO WAS A GUY NAMED CARL! WHAT GIVES?! I TELL YOU. WHAT GIVES?!"
Later on the gay bartender remarks to him:
GAY BARTNEDER: Ahhhh. I bet you couldn't f**k your way out of a paper bag.
DICK RODGERS: Oh I can f**k my way out of a cardboard box.
If only in a perfect world there was a Dick Rodgers show on Comedy Central.
