Saw an episode of family guy yesterday where there were two references to tickling in the episode. In the beginning Quagmire (sp?) is flying a plane called "The French Tickler'. Later in the episode Peter is kind of tickling Lois to the point where she hits him in the face. It made me think, then I could recall a few other instances in other episodes, for example when Stewie goes crazy over getting raspberries. There's all those references, and a ton of BDSM references throughout, makes me wonder if the creator is into the stuff and expressing it through the show, or if he is just trying to appeal to a market segment....
I'd like to think the former.

I love that scene where Peter tickles Lois and she keeps saying stop, then finally hits him in the face with a pot or something. So funny.

There's also that scene where they are talking about something mundane but are dressing up for a BDSM scene. At the end, Lois gets all domme and tells Peter a safeword.

I think Scott McFarland mayyyy be one of us. That, or at least has a strong fascination 🙂

It's Seth MacFarlane! :slapfight:

I'll let you know if he's one of us, once we start dating. :boogie:

You'd have to fight me for him. lol

I definitely think he could be into those things, I mean, if you know enough about Seth, then you can notice that certain episodes, certain things that occur (usually with Brian though) relates to Seth.

Lois is the COOLEST:woman:, she's totally down for the foot tickling. Anybody here work at CartoonNetwork.

:blackrose:

hmmm

I dont know. In my oppinon, Seth's depictions of sadomasochism are saturated with the stink of commercialism. He seems to play on the norm and stereotypes of the fet world rather than actual fact. However, this begs the question, is he exploiting the medium between vanilla and deviancy simply so the scene can be enjoyable for everyone?

Chances are high that he is at least curious about it. Would be nice to know 😀

Eh. I don't know, I think it's just for amusement.

Obviously, Family Guy is a "smartass" show, and continue to make fun of, and exaggerate events. For example, when Peter tickles Lois, and she hits him with a frying pan, the creater is basically exaggerating what people do to others when they're tickled. They fight, foool around, etc. Then, of course, babies go crazy over raspberries.

That's just how I feel.

There was also an episode where Brian and Stewie get stuck together with glue, and they come upon someone trapped in a well. Then they find out about a man with extremely long arms, but he's tickling a midget trapped up in a tree.

well, actually the plane called the "french tickler" isn't really a tickling reference, it's a dildo reference. the french call a dildo a tickler. so in america, we call it a "french tickler" so as not to be confused with tickling someone.

I think it feels good to us to think that these people have our fetishes, but why would they feel any more confident about it, enough to actually put it in a tv show, if WE get so shakey just talking to each other about this stuff??! I think it's just their tendency to hit all issues in a commercial way as suggested by Tickle_Emperor. I don't think it reflects people having our kinks as much as vanilla people exaggerating vanilla things or BDSM things....remember, to tickle someone is generally accepted in this society.....to tickle someone while they are tied up in cuffs and ropes and then to get sexually turned on by it is NOT generally accepted...and not generally known, either...so I think they're just pimping kinky stuff....the tickling elements, not so much....that's what tv does - pimp things....that's how they make money.
