Im starting this thread for anyone who needs or wants fantasy football advice, im here to offer it. Advice on players, keepers, idp, ppr or whatever questions you may have

I keep up with this stuff as well as anyone and have already gotten my fantasy magazines for my prep work... I've done a few ESPN mock drafts already. But I do have a tough decision this year in my keeper league. I need to choose between LaDainian Tomlinson and Clinton Portis... I'm leaning towards LT and I've kept him the last 3-4 seasons... Any thoughts?

I am sorry to say but the years of LT's fantasy dominance are over. I would keep him but trade him to either fill up roster with role players or another stud. Always go after the idiot in your league.

Go with LT people are down on him for no reason. He had an "off" year last year and still put up 1200 yards and double digit tds and finished 6th in fantasy rbs. Keep in mind thats an "off" year to people, LT is still a stud

Trez don't you remember Shaun Alexander's "off" year? What happened after that one? And plus Sproles is breathing down his neck. He is getting pushed out the door practically.

Trez, thanks for the advice man... That is the way I'm leaning and will probably keep LT... and try to cuff Sproles too!

DAE, while I agree with you that LT could be an injury concern, last year was the first time he's been injured. It was also a minor toe injury that nagged him all year... he wasn't able to pivot and push off as well... and he still started every game. My other choice, Clinton Portis, has dealt with many injuries already. Granted, Portis and LT have both started every regular season game over the last 2 seasons... However, in that span LT has had 3500 total yds and 30 TDs to Portis' 3200 total yds and 20 TDS. Thats not even including 3 seasons ago when LT broke the TD record...

I like Jim Zorn's WC scheme and think they have some weapons... But the Chargers have Phillip Rivers, Gates, Chambers, and Jackson to make defenses respect them and not stack the box... Not to mention S.D. may have a far easier time in the AFC West than Wash. in the NFC East. Sure Sproles will spell LT as that seems to be the strategy with all teams now, but LT will be the main red-zone and goal-line horse... He also catches a lot of balls out of the backfield and my keeper league gives points for receptions... I believe I must go with LT... Everyone else I've asked about it says the same...

But you are more than welcome to tell me why Portis or a trade might be a better option... I'm all ears as I try to form my strategy for the season.

LT and Alexander's off year were much more different, as i said LT still finished in the top 10 for backs with 1200 yards and double digit tds... for most backs thats a great year, its saying something when thats an off year.

And i love how sproles has 1 decent game and people say he is breathing down LT's neck. Sproles is and will be LT's backup until LT retires. Even with LT being hurt and sproles getting double the carries he had seen in any previous season he only had 300 rushing yards and 2 tds. He isnt breathing down anyones neck he will be regulated to 6 carries a game, maybe a catch and a punt and kick return

word to the wise stay away from Portis, i like him more than most but everything i have heard says that zorn is in love with Ladell Betts and that he would have been the starter last year had he not gotten hurt. Zorn feels betts better fits his west coast system and will likely be the predominant back for the skins this year

This is how it starts for backs. Sproles impressed and is starting to get groomed.

And he is the dread big 3 0

usually id agree but you have to remember it is LT, he is a different breed and has been the best back in the league for roughly 7 years. He is a sure fire hall of famer and those guys break the mold

I don't know, you may be right. But if you are this would be his last dominant year. The only back over 30 that has been any good over the last 5 or so years is Fred Taylor...why my Jags let him go is beyond me. Should fire Del Rio's sorry ass...

let him go because hes fragile fred and mjd is a good back who doesnt need to be splitting carries as much as he was. But i do agree del rio needs to be fired but he had no say in wether taylor came back to the team or not thats on the owner and gm
