Not the World Series, I mean the playoffs (LCS, LDS, divisional tie breakers):

My personal favorites:

1. 1980 ALCS: George Brett's upper deck homer at Yankee Stadium in Game 3 off Goose Gossage.

2. Barry Bonds failing to throw out Sid Bream in the 1992 NLCS

3. New York v. Boston in the 1978 AL East Tie Breaker, Bucky Dent smacks one over the Monstah to clinch the AL East.

4. Roy Halliday's No-Hitter...yesterday!

Anytime the Yankees or Mets win...Reggie's 3 homers against the Dodgers to clinch it! Mets, 69 series... Playoffs without a doubt the Dent HR! Halladay was awesome yesterday!

Mike Scioscia's 9th inning home run (with John Shelby on first base) off Doc Gooden to tie the game 4-4 against the Mets in the 1988 NLCS. I was in Shea Stadium when it happened. :couch:

The Dodgers went on to win the game in 12 innings, win the NLCS, and win the World Series against Oakland.

At the time Scioscia came to bat, the Dodgers trailed in the NLCS, 2 games to 1, and trailed in the game, 4-2. His home run was the great turning point of the Dodgers' 1988 post-season.

I'm a Braves fan. In the type of series you mentioned, my all time favorite moment is the Sid Bream slide in the 1992 NLCS. I was on the floor in the lounge of my college after that happened, due to being deliriously happy.

Another favorite moment: Kenny Rogers bases loaded walk to Andruw Jones, in the 11th inning of Game 6 of the 1999 NLCS, giving the Braves the series win over the Mets.

Honorable mention.

Len Dykstra's homer off Astro relief ace, the late Dave Smith, in the bottom of the ninth, of Game Three of the 1986 NLCS at the old Shea Stadium.

Red Sox winning game 7 2004 ALCS. They stuck a Hormel salami up their asses, and I was happy all winter.

My Braves winning the 1995 WS.

Chris Burke's walk-off 18th inning homerun off of rookie Joey Devine helping the Houston Astros slap aside the Atlanta Braves in another failed postseason. :bouncybou That was LOTS of fun!

Dodger outfielder Kirk Gibson's twelfth inning homer off Mets reliever Roger Mcdowell, which turned the 1988 NLCS from the favor of the Mets, to the Dodgers, who eventually won the series. I was laughing my ass off when that homer went over the wall at the old Shea Stadium.

The Mets sweeping away the Atlanta Braves to go to the World Series in 1969. By the way, I own all three games...would you like me to make copies for you Mitchell?

I wasn't even born yet in 1969. I know all about 1969. The Mets had a good team that year. I dont care that the Braves were swept. They got their revenge on the Mets in 1999.

How did they get revenge? The Mets won a World Series on the deal. Correct me if I am wrong, the Braves got swept by the Yankees. I have copies of all four of those games too. Would you like them?

Also...World Series Titles

New York Mets 2- Atlanta Braves 1. :bounce:

Yes, the Mets won the WS in 1969, but... the Braves got their revenge in 1999 in the NLCS, for what the Mets did to them in 1969.

Forget it. I'm done debating this. . The history is the history. Mets won the NLCS from the Braves in 1969, Braves won the NLCS from the Mets in 1999. Fact. Period. End of story.

By that token I guess we're still waiting for France to get revenge for the battle of Agincourt.
