So we have a book thread so why not a movie thread

I really liked dreamcatcher, esp how it mimic'd the book in its telling the story in pieces rather than just starting off at the young age then progressing

Maxium Overdrive-so stupid, yet so funny
Apt Pupil-very very deep and crazy
Thinner-also one of my fave books
Pet semetary-i cannot watch this movie cuz of that damn kid
The few skits from creepshow were amazing

and he had a few tv deals where he wrote short episodes which were like on 3 am on scifi or 10 am on scifi but they were entertaining

Yargh. Hmm. That's a tough one.

I'd probably have to go with either Salems Lot or The Shining, cause those two were among the first I saw, and the ones who left the biggest impression on me.

Needful Things Max Von Sydow was delicious as Satan

Salem's Lot..after i got over my fear of what was in the window lol..

i still can't watch The Shining...that old woman scares me to death..o and i figured out why the old woman was there...she had died the previous summer before Jack was hired..took an overdose of sleeping pills..and a maid claimed to see her lying in the bathrub, laughing at the maid, with a purple bloated face...

The Shining because nobody plays a better crazy then Jack Nicholson. And It,because of the giant spider hehe.

A tie between The Green Mile and The Stand.

Maximum Overdrive I remember seeing the preveiws for that move Stephen King said he was gonna scare the hell out of us with that movie I thought that movie was funny :jester:

The 70's version was even denounced by king for bein not what he wanted

my favorite king movies are Christine, Maximum Overdrive, and Graveyard Shift.......... :imouttahe

Pet Semetary and The Stand are among my faves.

Best SK adaptation I've seen is ABC's mini-series of The Stand in 1995. It was outstanding. Most Stephen King books end up transitioning to movies very horribly, in my opinion. Salem's Lot with David Soul playing Ben Mears was absolutely pathetic, but I thought I heard of a later attempt at Salem's Lot that seemed way more promising.

"Christine" made a decent transition onto the big screen. "Firestarter" wasn't bad. Though most people I've asked feel differently, I really enjoyed the movie "IT." The cast was excellent: Richard Thomas, John Ritter, Harry Anderson, Annette O'Toole...All giving topnotch performances.

LOL! Silly me. I didnt know that The Green Mile was King. With that information now at hand, that is my favorite King Movie. Hanks was awesome in that flick.
