Anyone here?

I've got a set of "how do you do it?" questions:

How do you draw feathers? And other tickle-implements (e.g. brushes)?

How do you draw them so that they look soft, and not like feather-shaped sticks?

How do you draw them so that the look like they're touching and being bent by the ticklish skin of the figure being tickled?

How do you draw them so that they look like they've been caught in motion, tickling, and not like they're just sitting there?

Feathers and brushes.....Oh My!

I would suggest looking at examples of feathers on Google. You can't go wrong with reference photos.
Also check out www. themodernapprentice.com/feathers.htm
Alot of info on feathers and pictures of examples.

1. Generally, roundedness often gives the perception/look of softness.
2. I find adding thin curved lines gives the appearance of flowing plumage.
3. Think of the tip of the feather as a tip of a finger. The tip will bend the opposite direction the feather is going.
4. To show more motion of the feather have the top third to top quarter of the feather
bent in the opposite direction the feather is going.
