Which is best?

Using hands and fingers to tickle or using feathers and other objects?

I think it can be nice with hands and fingers rubbing and tickling all over but then again a feather or a piece of grass can be very sexy and sensual.

From my experience as a foot tickler, feather tickling is a waste of time because it's ineffective. A felt tip pen works well. A ball point works even better. Old fashioned badger-hair shaving brushes are good. So is a hair brush with stiff bristles tipped with plastic knobs. But fingernails are nearly as effective, and you always have those with you when opportunity arises.

I agree totally with Strelnikov. I think that feathers are a complete waste of time. How did feathers become so intertwined with tickling? I'm sure that there are some hyper-ticklish people out there that can be tickled by them, but I think that they are in the overwhelming minority. I think that feathers can be used as a sensual tool, but if tickles are what you are trying for, then almost nothing beats fingernails.
Although, I once almost lost my mind when my husband used a hairbrush (with plastic bristles) on my nylon feet!!😱

I agree with the majority here -- fingers are best! I have medium-length nails, so I can use my fingertips when my hand is facing one way, and then I can turn my hand over and lightly rake the ends of my nails over the tickle-target for an entirely different sensation. I also find that toes are great tickle tools.

I have never had much result from feathers, though they feel good on the nipples. I have experimentally used the tip of a very sharp spike heeled pump to tickle a foot-slave, by lightly and rapidly poking it into the skin in a pattern (holding the shoe in my hand). I have also used the pointed toe of a high heeled shoe to dig into my partner's ribs and waist, which is effective if done gently (too hard, it causes bruising).

Still, fingers are my favorite, and by far the most versatile and sensitive tickle tools.

Duh Daisy, can I suggest getting the Tickler in your life, to Tickle your face (especially the lips and nostrils) with a feather. You might find it to be anything but a waste of time; if you can stand it that is !

I prefer feathers for warm-ups and erotic tickling, but as soon as heavier tickling is on the agenda, the fingers are still the best. Paint brushes are somewhere inbetween, and other props are nice for some variety, or for role-playing.

Hmm...didn't realize I was in the minority on this...

Not that it matters to me. Hell, I'm in the minority in just about everything. Reading the responses, one question comes to mind: Am I that ticklish? Didn't realize feathers didn't do the trick for so many. Well, they work for me! The only exception would be my feet. A feather used on my foot would do pretty much nothing. But, the stomach...the ribs...the legs...armits...can't say I enjoy having my face tickled. That's just annoying for me.

It seems to me that it depends on the desired result. Feathers on the right spot can be effective if soft, gentle tickling is the goal. For more intense tickling, I have to say fingers, hands down. 🙂

Most Effective Tools for me...

By far are the fingernails, although mine are short I've got it down to a science where I can trace the delicate curves and soft little wrinkles on the soles of female feet

However, for a more sensual effect--tickling as a turn on--try using warm oil, like baby oil or massage oil and apply it to the soles of the feet with a make up brush using light tickly strokes. Will drive her right up the wall.

Does anyone else hear that little 'X-Files' music in the background, or is that in my head?

Feathers tickle me like crazy in the right spots. But it has to be a stiff feather (unless it's my tummy or my back, then any fluttery touch (feather dusters, etc) will do it *shivers*) and it has to be in very sensitive areas. But I still prefer fingers and nails, mostly because they bring about more intense tickling, and they are more versatile.
