Can't istall it ... there's no .exe file to execute ... no files to execute ... just a packed chunk ... how can I install the codec without any double-click thingies?

maybe some wrong with your computer?...sometimes happen (conflict between different video codec softs)...Please remove codec from computer and downoload again....codec must install by double clicking. Read FAQ in http://www.xvid.org Maybe you find there answer for your problem.
