So San Diego Padres Shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr swung away on a 3-0 count with the Padres leading the Rangers 10-3 and hit a grand slam home run. It's like so what I don't see what the big deal is. Why was it so wrong? Why did Texas Rangers manager Chris Woodward and relief pitcher Ian Gibault get so upset. I have seen teams blows 7 runs leads late in the ball game. I don't think Fernando Tatis Jr was trying to rub it in. I heard he missed a sign for 3rd baseball San Diego Padres coach Glenn Hoffman. And even Fernando Tatis Jr was trying to rub it in, t was wrong at Ian Gibault to throw at San Diego Padres Third Baseball Manny Machado, Two wrongs don't make a right.

Whether he missed a sign or not is a matter to be settled in a private conversation among Tatis himself, the third base coach, and the manager.

Unlike in Little League, where there is a "mercy rule" which ends the game when one team has established a big enough lead, in MLB the fans and TV viewers expect nine innings of maximum effort from the athletes. So IMO Tatis did nothing wrong except possibly miss the sign.
