FF7 Fans Rejoice!!!

Yea, too bad it's a friggin' movie, not a game. That really sucks. Way to let everyone down, Square.

ok, somebody explain this to me. Is this a FF7 part 2 or something or is square making a new movie or what?
 
Squaresoft is creating a sequal to FF7...but it is not a game. It is a CG movie that will be about an hour long. The screenshots you see when you click the link are scenes from the movie. Why they chose to do this instead of a game is beyond me. Bah, Square hasn't made a good game since Final Fantasy 8 anyhow, so maybe it's for the best. They appear to have lost the magic they once had.
 
FF8...........Seething hatred. FF9 The last great FF. This sequel has got me all excited. Yes I would have favored another game but hell at least they're doing something.
 
yea, I never played FF9, so i can't say anything about that one...I can say, however, that by the looks of them, that I already don't like the character design...yea, I agree though, at least they are doing something.
 
have you people not played FF10? that was the best one. I think that 7 would be the next, and i can't decide the order for 8 and 9.
 
I thought 10 was horrible. I found it rather ironic how Square decided to make a game sequal to the worst ff...lol...oh well, those guys have lost thier minds.
 
I lost interest in Final Fantasy after 8. FF9 just didn't appeal to me. It looked to cartoony and such. FF10 I couldn't get into either. Don't know why, I just couldn't. I've heard that the characters are delving farther away from being warriors and are closer to being entertainers in FFX.
 
FF9...............Started out goofy but the plot was KICKASS and I like the characters as much as I did the FF7 ones. FF8.............I refuse to admit ever existed. FF10...................The graphics were entertaining, the voices were somewhat of a novelty, but the plot sucked. Tidus should have had a thing for Lulu instead of Yuna. I pray that they bring back Aeris.
 
FF VII was an amazing game and FF VIII and X only less so. I enjoyed FF IX, especially being an old school gaming fanatic and loved how it referenced the prior FFs. All in all, FF IX was a good RPG, but a lesser FF game.

For anyone who doubts that Square has the magic they once did, I'll politely refer you to a little game called Kingdom Hearts, which manages to capture both the feel of the old Disney cartoons & movies and the adventure of the Final Fantasy games.

FF VII: Advent Children has fairly good potential. Hopefully they got better writers behind it than FF: The Spirits With-in. *Shudders at memory and starts reciting Conrad* I think it will be a beautiful game, and worth watching for that alone. My gut instincts tell me the plot will be servicable and probably fun. All in all, I anticipate 2 1/2 to 3 stars.
 
I heard that Square was also thinking of making a game of Advent Children, or whatever. Personally I didn't like FF7 all that much. It was fine, but...I guess I just didn't grow to like any of the characters.

I did like 10, thought it had one of the best plots, not to mention very good music. My favorite Final Fantasy is probably 4, 5 or 9 though...I just fell in love with 9's characters ^^x
 
Coming hot on the trail of movies like Armageddon and Deep Impact FF7 was always gonna be a winner. It made me care very much for Aeris because she seemed so vulnerable and isolated. Sephiroth murdering her made me hate him as the villain like nothing on Earth!!! The final time I played the game I got "nuked" it as they say. I completed every side quest possible. The 7 resteraunt flyers, Yuffie's side quest in Wutai, winning every prize at the Battle Arena, using all 6 standard limit breaks for each character to effect, raising all character's levels to over 90 with four of them hitting 99 (Aeris excepted, she was in the 50's somewhere when Sephiroth murdered her), developing and using all characters Level 4 limit breaks to effect (The exception to those last two being Cait Sith of course and also Aeris, because by the time you are able to lay hands on her Level 4 limit break, she's already dead!), finding all character's Ultimate Weapons and using them to effect, having all possible fights against the Turks (a great favourite was to reduce all Turks to about 10 hit points and then using Omnislash or Knights of the Round), breeding a gold chocobo myself, personally creating Master Materia by maxing out the levels of materia I'd obtained and then fusing them at the lab in Cosmo Canyon, visiting every place on the planet it was possible to and last but not least, killing Ruby and Emerald Weapon. (Both of whom were ten times as difficult opponents as Sephiroth would prove to be.

When I got round to fighting Sephiroth for the last time, I promised myself that I'd let him inflict the Super Nova on me at least once and have it kill none of my characters, because a) it's one cool-ass animation and b) because I'm that fucking bad! lol Duly I took my punishment and decided his time had come. I unleashed Knights of the Round on him. Still alive... bugger. Another Knights of the Round. BASTARD!!! Still alive... bugger twice. Finally I had Cloud unleash the Omnislash that the Super Nova had given him.

STILL SMEGGING ALIVE!!!!!!!!! I didn't remember him being this tough in all the previous whoop-assings I'd given him!😕 It came around to Cloud's time again and I used some spell or other (can't remember the exact name) that dispelled Sephiroth's Wall s[ell that had given him a double protective barrier. As luck would have it Tifa chose that time to take a savage hit from him, that filled up her limit break guage. As Seph's protection was scattered like grass in the wind by Cloud, I was hitting one reel after another with Tifa. The first four reels all came down as "YEAH!" and the next three as the more moderate "HIT". Either way, he was screwed. Seven consecutive whoop-assing's from a Level 99 Tifa later (who was armed with her Premium Heart ultimate weapon) and Seph was burst assunder to float away into the ether. Then of course comes the mano y mano battle with Cloud and Seph, but that was hardly a challenge as Seph went home in slices after one shot.)

8 I quite enjoyed, but it became crushingly boring because of the stupid FUCKING card game rules. I think I got onto disk 3 once, but that was about it. 9 I played for about 10 minutes and then never looked at it again. I just couldn't take a game seriously where the main hero had a fucking tail! :disgust: That was the last one I bought.


By the way, why are all the piccies in that screenshot page displayed as red x's?
 
The wonders of technology

It's wonderful how a little technology can make lego block lookalikes into realistic looking characters. If only this was a game...
