Even though I'm a big Penn State fan, I do have to objectively agree that USC played a different defense than they would have had they not had such a big lead.
That being said, however, they DID need to tighten it up in the 4th when PSU looked like they were making a game of it, and COULD have tied it with a few good plays. It was NOT over in the late 4th, and PSU did move the ball better than anyone else against a D that DID have to stop them to secure the win. It was that loose zone that did allow it, though. So, six of one, half dozen of the other, USC won and that's that.
I will agree on the OSU fans, though. I lived in Columbus for a short time and was told many a story about how to "survive" during football season. I heard stories from co-workers about people actually smashing out windows of cars with Michigan plates on them. "You don't even want to drive through Ohio with a Michigan plate". Shit like that. Hell, I even had one person warn me not to even wear regular clothes with Michigan's colors on them. That's kinda psychotic. It's just a fuckin' college football team, people...not the Inquisition.
