I'm lurking again...

So, I have my first meeting with a member of the forum tonight who I met online. He seems like a really cool guy and I'm super excited and super nervous.

The close friends I've made here who I've met in real life had talked for so long and known each other so well by that point, we just grabbed some burgers and talked about everything that had nothing to do with the forum.

A few have stayed overnight. Nothing wild or crazy - some video games, movies, tours of the city. 🙂

I'm dating myself here - but my first meeting with anyone in the community even pre-dated the TMF - I met Josie the Ticklish Pussycat from the IRC chat room back in the mid 90s lol. Had fun, hung out, got to know each other even better, and had a fun tickling session 🙂 It's like any other internet networking site - make sure you know the person you're meeting well in advance, meet in a public place until you're sure you're comfortable with each other, etc. - same rules apply. 🙂

And it was actually a really fun night. I met him online outside of the forum and found out later that he happened to be a member. I was really nervous at first, but we met and had a couple drinks which really broke the ice for me because I'm pretty shy. Anyway, we spent over 2 hours together afterwards on our first improv session and it was so much fun! It was a really great experience and I'm so happy I got to try it. I'm pretty sure I found a good long term friend and tickle buddy.

The first actual person I met was ticklechick (I don't think she is on the forum these days). That was pretty fun, she was an awesome lee and we talked about non fetish stuff too which was cool. We actually went up to Dallas where I met Kis, Oddjob and some other folks. That was at least oh 7 years ago or so.

I've become friends with another member here as well recently. One thing I'm beginning to realize is that the people behind some of the screens are folks like myself.

I've chatted with some cool peps and producers as well through the forum of course. I figured I'd list to the folks that I have met face to face or have since exchanged real world info with.

I hope to meet more members as time goes on. I'm all about having an eclectic mix of friends.

However, you should definitely take safety precautions before meeting anyone you don't know. That of course is a general rule of thumb.

Thanks for the concern. This was actually my first time meeting with anyone that I talked to online, which is another reason why I was nervous. But everything was safe and in a public place. And I think he had more to be concerned about than I did. I tried to convince him that I was just a decoy and that there was a rape van waiting for him when we got out of the restaurant. Haha.

I follow Angel77 by saying I'm glad you had a great time. Furthermore, I am happy that you met him in a public setting as well. I'm sure like he most of us on here are harmless. I always tend to give others advice solicited or unsolicited to err on the side of caution. I don't follow my own rules in that regard, but those who can't tend to teach lol.
