Hello finally after lurking here for months I've decided to ask one thing to the artists:

usually i try to draw some tk art but when the job is finished it never satisfied me 🙁 I think is 'cause I don't like my style and i try find it my own changing something every draw i do but i can't find it x.x im trying all day but i have no results (in my opinion) so i wanna ask:

How do you have found your drawing style?

(ps sorry the bad english grammar ^^ )

EDIT HERE SOME OF MY DRAWING ; dunno what I don't like but there is something i wanna draw better x-x (sorry low quality is the best that i can do with a camera phone ^^

I have no style since I cant draw. But I know what I like and what I don't like.
What about you? There are so many styles in this forum, maybe you see what you could imagine to be like or not?
Btw do you really have that much styles? I would have my own one (if I had one) and I could not simply change that.
Wuold you like to show us some of your art?

dunno how to explain it exatly ; i dunno if i have style ; for style I mean ''the way like I draw'' i wanna share some of my works but i dont have a scanner x.x (or i have post some of my try right now ^^ ) about the many style in this forum there are some that I like more than others (but actually dunno why; simply in the first sight I can like them or not) but I think that style can change in every drawing

You're never satisfied with your work? Then you really are an artist. They can be satisfied with some of their work for a very brief period, then think it needs to improve. Boils down to that boring "P" word: Practice. Use whatever reference you need, like photos to help draw the bodies, clothes, hair, etc. As for faces, you can base it on a certain style or artist, but you can adapt from that. Getting the style you personally want may never happen, but you can come close.

My suggestion is two-fold.

ONE: You can't expect that you'll be excellent in any style of your liking. You probably already have a style and it will be easier to expand on that than start an entirely new style. However, if you like a certain style, you can edge toward that by taking 'tips' from other people's drawings. Look at how they draw eyes, where they place them on the face, what the face's shape is and how they draw hair in general. Then try to do that yourself, experiment and examine the other drawings again, study them.

TWO: Upload some artwork and ask us for feedback on what you should do to improve, ask us what areas are good and which areas need most improvement. When we see where you stand, we can probably also give you tips on how to approach improving a certain thing.

Practise, as someone already said, that's mandatory either way.

I would say is that it's normal to be frustrated with this; at least, it was for me. I really really struggled with that same process, and the thing that solved it for me was to just try to draw what was in my head. I would have an image in there, and I would try to recreate it in some realistic style that I was never happy with.

Then one day I tried drawing a friend of mine, and I was incredibly happy with how it turned out. I had just drawn it from a mental image, and I realized that it wasn't very close to being an accurate representation of what she actually looked like, but it still looked right to me, cause it fit what was in my head.

After that it was just a matter of honing things, and that part doesn't stop. Along the same lines as what chimp said, I'll draw something that seems amazing to me and I think I've reached the apex, then a few months later I'll draw something that I like even more and I see all the flaws in the previous piece.

I think a great place to start is to create a character, and just focus on that. It doesn't have to be the next Yenny or anything, but it will give you a chance to work straight from your imagination. This way you don't get bogged down in trying to replicate real people, which only leads to trying to make photo-realistic drawings, and that only led to frustration for me. Also it allows you to hone the look of your character a little bit with each drawing, which can help you get a general feel for how detailed, cartoony, or realistic you want things to look. Of course, if you get stuck on something (I couldn't figure out how to draw feet, which isn't good if you're hoping to post on a tickling forum) and that's when I find it handy to look around and see how other artists handle those things.

Sorry if my long post makes it seem like I'm trying to be an expert, because I'm still an amateur. I just understand that frustration, and i thought I'd share what's been working for me. Hope it helps, best of luck, and I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future!

ty for the time ^^ I will think about your words and try try try try try ... and try 😛 to draw everything I wanna do and every time is possible ^^ when I have the tools to upload drawing on pc i will post some of my works; thanks again ^^

Can you post an example of one of your drawings? And then explain what you don't like about the style?

as I already said i cannot post because I don't have a scanner x.x but when I have the oppurtunity I will do it (I hope soon )

If you have no scanner, you can also use a digital camera or cellphone with camera (if you have any of those). The result isn't as good as with a scanner, but it serves its purpose.

OK, I missed seeing this the first time - my mistake.

It didn't help that I already do all my art on the computer - I just don't think in terms of "needing to scan in" anything.

finnally i have posted some of my artwork; just tell me your opinions (bad and good ^^)

One piece of advice that's always good: Practice. Do more drawings.

There's an old thread where various artists showed old drawings vs their more recent ones. You can see the improvement, and if you keep drawing you can improve too. (here is the thread)

My second bit of advice would be to watch your proportions. They're not bad for a start, but a few points for improvement would be

- eyes go in the middle of the head, not toward the top. It's a common beginners error, but you're actually pretty good about (mostly) avoiding it.

- Your arms need to be a bit bigger (thicker, more than longer)

- Your feet and (especially) hands need to be bigger. As a guide, a hand is roughly as long as a face (chin to eyebrows), and a foot is roughly as long as a head (chin to top of head).

For more advice, DeviantArt has a lot of tutorials. Some good, some not so great, but all are free. There's also a lot of free stuff on the web for drawing "anime" figures, which can be adopted if you're trying to draw non-anime stuff. If you're willing to pay money, my recomendation would be for Jack Hamm's Drawing the Head and Figure

Other than that, what in particular do you want to improve?

thanks for your time, I will pay attetion when I draw this things 🙂
