I work in a natural resources department at a public university in northern NE, and everybody conducting field work is required to attend a First Aid / CPR training course. Most attendees were male forestry undergraduate students (who generally are pretty obnoxious), but there were a few attractive females in the class as well. The instructor announced that she was going to demonstrate a “head-to-toe patient assessment”, there would be lots of poking and prodding to follow, and she would select a volunteer from the audience to act as the patient. After hearing that, my ears perked up. She called on one obnoxious guy to select a number, and that number would correspond to whichever student had that number on her class roster. Based on probability, I expected a male to be chosen, and I had no interest in seeing him poked and prodded, but to my pleasant surprise, “Maria” was chosen. She is about 5’3”, long wavy brown hair, brown eyes, average build, and very attractive. She looked apprehensive as she made her way down to the front of the classroom and sat in a chair facing the class. The instructor started by checking for injuries on her head, down her back, and down each arm. Then she described how she was going to check for thoracic and abdominal injuries by pressing two fingers up and down the ribcage and across the stomach. Maria seemed to get a slightly concerned look on her face, and I watched a bit more intently. Sure enough, as soon as the instructor touched Maria’s ribs, Maria jumped nearly out of her seat, smiling and trying to stifle laughter. The instructor kept on prodding around the thorax and abdomen and Maria was flinching and smiling with each touch. The instructor laughed and said something like “She’s not injured, but she IS ticklish”. Then the instructor moved to Maria’s thigh and elicited one more flinch and giggle. It was definitely a rare treat to see a very attractive girl, on display in front of a class of 60 people, being tickled publicly and responding very ticklishly!
