First off, the search function basically doesn't work on my phone. If there is another thread (has to be old AF, though!), feel free to bump it and lock this sum'bitch.
Anyway, the hilarious New Zealand duo is back and are currently touring the US, playing lots of new material, as well as the classics.
I was forurnate enough to see them at the amazing Red Rocks venue in Colorado last night. It was my first time there, and it is as grand as people say. Add in the most gorgeous evening of weather, god damn.
And the two are as great as ever. It's been so long since they've done anything new together. They opened with a new song about "this is how we party," and it's about very specific things about parties, like putting new beers in the cooler when taking out cold ones, and silly shit like that, lol. The best new song, and probably the best overall that night, was a frantic jazz song called "Shady Rachel," which was about a suspected spoon thief that goes all over the place before coming together in a great way. Then, of course, there were several amazing selections from their past catalog. "Business Time," "Hurt Feelings," "Issues (Think About It)," "Bowie's in Space," etc.
I was with great company, too, so the entire night was a success.
Anyway, I'm now REALLY eager to hear the new stuff again, but they were very direct about people not recording. Hopefully and album comes out sooner than later!
I flippin' love FOTC!
