To fellow foot fans:

We've seen the snarky articles, sometimes in women's magazines, other times in newspapers or online blogs. You can almost see the sneer on the writer's face as the article is typed. It drips with condescension or else outward contempt for us "freaks." The article below, however, takes a more open-minded curiosity approach. Not quite neutral, but also not derisive. The theories cites are controversial, and you'll find yourself mumbling "utter bullshit" on some, but she didn't lard it with negative or crackpot theories. It was a decent sampling of thought on our fetish. She just tries to cover the spectrum. Most balanced article I've read yet.

No, actually they're not. I've run into foot folks who embody every single one of those theories in the past - the vast majority of them (that make themselves "public", anyway) do tend to be submissive weirdos who can't relate to women on any level. It doesn't surprise me that they focus on a particular body part so that they don't have to deal with the woman as a whole.

Good article, but I was disappointed that they didn't touch on the tickling aspect of feet.... oh well.

Yea, overall, not bad, not overtly patronizing. The only contention I have is how she thinks foot massages are devoid of sexiness. Also, how she generalizes all men as simple visual creatures. Nevertheless, the theories put out have either all been accepted or seem otherwise reasonable. I do find it interesting she didn't touch up on another theory I realized in medical school and also have heard from other foot fetishists; how the brains sensory cortex has the area for the feet right next to the area for the genitals. Interesting find though.

I personally associate my love of feet with a bad experience I had when I was a child and yes, all through school I was a bit of a social undesirable, but things often change when one leaves school and becomes able to make friends. But that doesn't mean that we're all social outcasts with no understanding of women.

I should have been clearer. I meant that I've run into foot folks who embody each of those stereotypes, not that each foot fetishist I've met has embodied them all. Also, I meant that it's usually the overtly creepy ones who are shouting about their love of feet from the rooftops. Most well-adjusted foot fetishists just tell their partners and leave it at that.

I have a foot fetish myself, so it's not like I'm talking out of my ass on this one.

More open-minded than most such articles. Thanks for the link. 😀

not matter what everyone is going to have an opinion about people who have a foot fetish some will be negetive and others will be ok with it
